Many high-ranking GOP politicians delivered powerful speeches at the Republican National Convention, but 98-year-old Sergeant William Pekrul, a decorated World War II and D-Day veteran, added to the list with an astonishing patriotic speech that energized the crowd and had them chanting “USA! USA!”
He recalled the sacrifices he and so many of our countrymen made during World War II to fight the Nazis and keep our country sheltered, but he also lamented what has happened to our great nation under the disastrous leadership of Joe Biden.
America is still worth fighting for, he told the crowd:
I will never forget witnessing the horror of the Nazi war camps during the Battle of the Bulge. My friends and I fought to stop the last major Nazi force on the Western Front. A few months later, Hitler was dead. Hitler was dead – the Nazis were defeated. And we thanked Almighty God for saving us from evil.
But not many of us came home. I still miss many of my friends. On that beach. [Choked back emotion.] And today there are not many of us left. But for those of us who are here… America is still worth fighting for! [Raised fist as crowd cheered. His smile as he was acknowledged by the assembled is priceless].
98-year-old World War II veteran and father of 11 children, Sergeant William Pekrul, speaks more clearly than Joe Biden at the RNC:

He sharply attacked the current Biden-Harris administration and outlined its numerous failures:
It hurts my heart to see what our current President and Vice President have done to the country I love so much. They humiliated us in Afghanistan, we are being pushed around in China, [let] Terrorists are wreaking havoc in the Middle East and allowing our own southern border to be overrun.
America, people say… America is an idea. But I believe. America is much more than that. America, America is our home. [Crowd chants “USA” as he pumps his fist in the air.]
You know, I fought in Europe and I came back home. I kissed the ground. Thank God I’m back home in my country.
Several outstanding speeches were given at the congress:

Perhaps the most incredible moment of the speech came when Pekrul said he was still ready to fight for the soul of the nation:
And where I come from, if someone tries to save my home, you dig deep into the ground and never look back. That’s the attitude that saved the free world all those years ago.
With President Trump as Commander-in-Chief, I would go back to the army today and re-enlist.
And I would storm any beach my country asked me to. God bless you. God bless your home and the United States of America.
