Since the Republican National Convention, which selected Ohio Senator JD Vance as former President Trump’s vice presidential running mate, the mainstream media has been relentless in its efforts to damage Vance’s reputation.
Media personalities and Democratic politicians have called him “weird” and cast him in a negative delicate – they have consistently tried to portray Vance as the antagonist in this political narrative. This campaign against Vance appears to be an orchestrated attempt to undermine his credibility, which only shows that they are afraid of him resonating with voters in the Rust Belt states and convincing undecided voters to vote for Trump-Vance.

Now Fox News host and former South Carolina congressman Trey Gowdy is jumping on the bandwagon. Vance was scheduled to appear on Gowdy’s show, and before the interview, Gowdy dedicated his opening monologue to people without children who are “some of the nicest people” he knows.
And this is not just about Catholic nuns. Some of the best people I know don’t have children. Teachers, guidance counselors, lawyers, doctors, and they love other people’s children so much that they teach them, guide them, protect them, and care for them. Some people choose not to have children. Others desperately want children but can’t afford them.
The American people are forgiving to us when we ask for it.

Immediately after his monologue, he brought Vance on stage, and he responded with the words:
If you look at what the left has done, you can see that they have taken this radically out of context and actually lied aggressively about what I said. The left has become increasingly explicitly anti-child and anti-family. They have encouraged adolescent families not to have children at all out of concern about climate change.
Gowdy attempted to trap Vance by pointing out that numerous Americans, including former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina, and Founding Father George Washington, have never had biological children. By highlighting these people, Gowdy sought to challenge Vance’s views on the importance of family structure and suggest that childlessness does not diminish a person’s ability to serve the country effectively or to exhibit powerful leadership qualities. This rhetorical move was intended to put Vance on the defensive and question the validity of his stance on the issue.
What’s amazing is that Vance agreed with Gowdy’s assessment because the Fox News host completely missed the point of Vance’s 2021 statement or intentionally misinterpreted it.
Vance said:
Vance agreed with Gowdy’s assessment that “direct descendants are not necessary to be fully invested in the future of this country,” but added that parenthood “really changes one’s perspective.”
“So this is not, and never was, a criticism of everyone who doesn’t have children. This is a lie from the left. It is a criticism of the left’s increasingly anti-parent and anti-child attitude,” Vance said.
It is crucial to note that Gowdy wanted Tim Scott to be Trump’s running mate.

Finally, Vance told Gowdy:
“I will continue to speak out because I think it’s important for parents to have a voice,” he said. “I’m proud to be on the ballot with President Trump, a true defender of parents and families.”
No matter who Trump chose as vice president, the media would always have pulled something from the past and used it against him. But Vance handled the situation correctly and showed that he is the fighter that is needed.
