I have no idea if anything Donald Trump said on Wednesday will assist him win or lose the election, but I do know it’s hilarious. That’s got to count for something, right?
After shocking the press by questioning Kamala Harris’s racial identity at the National Association of Black Journalists, Trump held a rally in Pennsylvania where he drew plenty of laughs. In front of a packed arena, the former president began with a reenactment of Harris’s staged phone call with the Obamas in which they endorsed her presidential candidacy.
That was Trump at his best and one of the funniest moments of the election campaign.

Another moment that drew laughter was when Trump spoke of Venezuelan gangs carrying out attacks on police in America, claiming that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris were sitting around the White House “trying to figure out who is dumber.”

TRUMP: Yesterday it was reported that more than 1,000 members of the brutal Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua are planning ambush attacks on police and law enforcement in the United States while Harris and Biden sit in the White House trying to figure out who is dumber. They sit in the White House. Imagine that. A huge number of Venezuelan gang members.
What Trump describes is true. While the mainstream press is not picking up the story, local news channels have report It states that members of the Tren de Aragua were given the “green light” to carry out attacks. One of the cities affected is Denver, Colorado.
Still, I know many Republicans cringe at this issue, not because they are deeply offended, but because they think it hurts Trump’s re-election efforts and, by extension, lower-ballot elections. Will all this novel controversy, especially the things that happened at NABJ, drag down the former president? I don’t know. Maybe it will, but that’s just the way Trump is. He will never change and he will never stop mocking Democrats, even if it stirs up a racist controversy that will no doubt make the Harris team salivate.
