Oh, that was ugly. I mean, it was great.
Republican vice presidential candidate JD Vance not only visited the southern border on Thursday – an apparent blunt dig at Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris, who opposes the role of border agent – but he also calmly gave Harris and Biden a good dressing down during his stay there.
Let’s just look at an excerpt from Vance’s speech at the start of the celebrations, about Donald Trump Jr.
They began their term – Kamala Harris came into office – with promises, and she kept those promises to open the American southern border. They stopped deportations on day one. They stopped the construction of the border wall on day one.
We see the border wall behind us and it can be completed soon, but that cannot happen because of the Kamala Harris administration. They have reinstated the catch-and-release principle and eliminated the remain-in-Mexico principle, so all asylum seekers who come to our border can now be released into our country because they are not forced to stay in Mexico while we decide on their asylum claims.

Vance continued:
We have to remember that these policies, as horrible and idiotic as they were, are causing real people to suffer. Many of you know my story. I was a little kid myself, waiting at my mother’s bedside, furious because my mother took something she shouldn’t have taken. But I prayed to God, “Please, Jesus, let her wake up.”
Vance went on to address the harsh truth of the fentanyl crisis, again pointing directly at Harris, who as president would likely continue Biden’s border policies – or do something worse.
And the sorrowful truth is that a lot of those prayers aren’t going to be answered because of the poison that Kamala Harris has brought to this country. A lot of parents aren’t going to wake up, because when you take fentanyl, you don’t wake up – it takes your life.
So there are many children who have been denied a second chance with their mothers and fathers. There are many mothers and fathers who will never see their children walk down the aisle because of what Kamala Harris has done at this border.
Although Joe Biden, not Kamala Harris, has been president for more than three and a half years, House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA) recently called her “the architect of Biden’s failure.”
[L]Let’s take a look at Kamala Harris’ record as vice president. She is still the sitting vice president, but she was also the architect of many of President Biden’s worst failures, not least of which was the main responsibility she was given for three and a half years: the office of border czar.

She has often claimed the border is secure. Everyone in America knows that is a lie. Kamala Harris is responsible for this epic failure. In fact, she called for open borders. What else did she call for?
