Senator Tim Scott marries Mindy Noce, continuing his inspiring story of hope and the American Dream

The life story of Republican Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina has always been one of hope and the American dream. From Cotton to Congress will always be original and inspiring because, unlike many politicians, Scott actually lives the values, ideals and aspirations he learned from his grandfather and mother.

REGARD:

What’s even more inspiring about his life is that he has been praying for a wife since he was 28. As someone who prayed for a husband since he was 19 and wavered in hope until that prayer was answered at age 39, it’s a special joy to see someone find the right person, especially when the wait is long.

When Scott got engaged to interior designer Mindy Noce in January, cynics in the political class (read: almost everyone) speculated that it was a fake engagement because Scott was being considered as a vice presidential candidate for former President and Republican nominee Donald Trump and he wanted to look the part. But on Saturday, August 3, 2024, Scott proved the cynics and skeptics wrong.

But he’s been doing that his whole life.

What lovely photos that hopefully herald a lovely marriage. Scott spoke exclusively to South Carolina’s The Post Courier about his journey and said he believes the timing is right, even though it has taken decades to achieve his goal.

“For me, part of it was a blessing not to have gotten married earlier,” he said, adding that it took him a while to learn some tough truths about love, or as he put it, “The right girl at the wrong time is a mess. The wrong girl at the right time is a mess.”

Scott and Noce began dating in 2022 after a mutual friend at Seacoast Church set them up. At first, Scott didn’t feel ready for a relationship. Thanks to that friend’s nudge, Scott took her number and called her. That first phone call lasted two hours and ended with them deciding to do a Bible study together.

The key is to start with similar goals and the right foundation.

During a private evening ceremony in the chapel of the Seacoast Church on Long Point Road, the Republican from South Carolina exchanged his wedding vows with 47-year-old interior designer Mindy Noce.

Among the readings at the wedding ceremony was a Bible passage that began with the meditation, “Two are better than one.”

The newlyweds danced their first dance to “Swayin’ to the Music (Slow Dancin’)” by Johnny Rivers.

The ceremony was an intimate gathering, officiated by Greg Surratt, founder of the Southcoast Church and one of Scott’s closest confidants. The senator’s huge brother, Ben Scott, was his best man. And Noce’s best friend from college, Joni Blair, was her maid of honor.

Also in attendance were some of Scott’s current and former congressional colleagues: Senator James Lankford of Oklahoma, Senator John Barrasso of Wyoming, former North Carolina Representative Mark Walker, former Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam, former Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy, Senator John Thune of South Dakota, fellow Congressman Lindsey Graham of South Dakota, and former South Carolina Representative and Fox News analyst and host Trey Gowdy.

Congratulations, Senator Scott and Mindy Noce Scott! What a great palate cleanser after a very electrifying week.
