Another Tuesday, another set of primaries. Today’s races include Kansas, Michigan, Missouri and Washington.
Races to keep an eye on tonight:
- In Michigan, in the race to succeed retiring Senate Rep. Debbie Stabenow (D), Rep. Elissa Slotkin is the Democratic favorite, while former Rep. Mike Rogers is the Republican favorite, although he faces former Rep. Justin Amash as a challenger.
- In Washington, Representative Dan Newhouse, one of the ten Republicans in the House who voted to impeach former President Donald Trump, is running for re-election. Seven other candidates are vying to succeed him.
- In Missouri, St. Louis County District Attorney Wesley Bell will face Squad member Cori Bush for the Democrats in the 1st Congressional District race. The poll numbers (and the fundraising advantage) are pointing to Bell as a surprise candidate. Will Bush be the second Squad member sent home?
- In Missouri, there is also a neck-and-neck race among Republicans for the governorship: current Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft, current Lieutenant Governor Mike Kehoe and State Senator Bill Eigel are in the running. There is also a race for the attorney general position between incumbent Attorney General Andrew Bailey and Trump’s appellate attorney Will Scharf.
