Mike Johnson reacts to Walz’s election and criticizes the “pro-Palestinian, in some cases pro-Hamas wing” of the Democrats

Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson has become the latest to denounce blatant discrimination within the Democratic Party, saying Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro was passed over as a possible vice presidential candidate for Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris because of his Jewish heritage.

Johnson advocated an interview with The Hill shortly after it was announced that Kamala had chosen left-wing Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her candidate. Johnson said the Keystone State governor would have been the “stronger choice”:

“I think that [Shapiro’s faith] “Clearly, a major factor was her hesitation to put forward a vice presidential candidate of Jewish descent because there is a divide in the Democratic Party,” Johnson said. “There is a pro-Palestinian, in some cases pro-Hamas wing in the Democratic Party.”

“Sadly, Josh Shapiro was overlooked because of his pedigree,” Johnson added.

Johnson is far from alone in denouncing the Democratic Party’s distorted values. My colleague Mike Miller previously wrote about CNN commentator Van Jones, who is anything but a conservative and denounced “anti-Jewish” fanatics:

But there is also anti-Semitism that has seeped into this party. You can be pro-Palestinian without being an anti-Jewish fanatic. But there are some anti-Jewish fanatics out there, and there is some unrest now, and there has to be. How much of what just happened is bringing down some of those darker parts of the party?

Spokesman Johnson continued:

When asked whether the decision had anti-Semitic undertones – which some Republicans have claimed – Johnson dismissed the question but reiterated his opinion that Shapiro’s Jewish faith was an “important factor” in the decision-making process.

“I’m not going to call it that because I don’t know – I just know that it was a major factor,” Johnson said. “I think it was quite obviously a major factor. And I think they made a political decision that is sad and I think they will regret it.”

RedState’s Streiff agrees, writing: “If you work through all the undergrowth, I think you come to one problem: Shapiro is Jewish.”

Commentary: Walz’s exclusion of Shapiro shows that the anti-Semites have won

Many also argue that choosing Walz was a indigent tactical decision by Harris. He is, like her, far left, so there is no balance on the ballot. He has a track record full of problems that Republicans can pounce on:

Here are Tim Walz’s scathing comments that Republicans should keep on a loop

The press rushes to whitewash the pig, but the election of Tim Walz is a disaster for the Democrats

The choice of Walz appears to have been made out of fear; even many Democrats believe that Shapiro would have made the stronger choice and helped the outcome in the crucial swing state of Pennsylvania. But Kamala is so afraid of angering her far-left base and losing the votes of Dearbornistan that she would rather bow to them than make a principled decision.

In doing so, she showed us exactly what kind of leader she would be.
