At former President Donald Trump’s major rallies, he regularly touted his willingness to debate the Democratic candidate at any time and in any place.

At the press conference, Trump announced the news by announcing that three dates for the 2024 presidential debates had been virtually fully negotiated – at least by his campaign team:

The former president then announced three agreed debate dates where he will face Vice President Harris. Trump stated that the Harris campaign “may or may not agree” to the terms of the debates. The dates mentioned by Trump were September 4 (Fox), September 10 (NBC) and September 25 (ABC).

He also said that JD Vance and Tim Walz could debate in a vice presidential debate on CBS.

Now we have a novel update that there will be at least one debate between the two candidates in September, and the location where it will take place may surprise some supporters:

PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Both Donald Trump and Kamala Harris have agreed to a presidential debate on Sept. 10, according to ABC, which could set up a confrontation between the Republican and Democratic candidates.

Thursday’s announcement came shortly after Trump said at a press conference that he had proposed three presidential debates with three television networks and agreed on specific dates in September.

The Trump-Biden follow-up debate was originally scheduled to take place on ABC, but the former president rejected the notion that he should automatically agree to the same terms once Kamala Harris becomes the presumptive Democratic nominee. He also mentioned that there is a pending lawsuit against the network. We’ll see if any more details are released about why the debate is taking place and if the location is also announced.

This is a developing story. RedState will provide further updates as they become available.
