One thing has to be said about former President Donald Trump: He is the master of the media.
One of the main points he made during his lengthy press conference on Thursday was that Kamala Harris had not answered questions or given interviews and whether anyone would hold her accountable. After he did that, the media finally cornered Harris and asked her questions, including when she would give an interview. She said she would try to give an interview before the end of the month.

But now we know more about why she is avoiding questions and why the media has not put as much pressure on her as it should have. According to Politico She doesn’t think she has to do this because her team thinks she’s riding a wave.
The Harris camp hopes to ride the wave for as long as possible, so there is little concern that the candidate will avoid something that has long been required of presidential candidates: taking questions from the press.
They’re thinking about doing one before the convention, but some of their people don’t see the benefit. They said they might wait until after Labor Day to do any significant interviews.
“It’s really not necessary,” the person said. “The voters she needs are at the local level. They don’t read the national press.”
In other words, she doesn’t think much of the media, even if it’s her cup of tea. That’s probably a mistake if she thinks what she does will resonate with anyone outside of the Democratic online following.
The report also revealed why she has not been pressured more by the media. It sounds like she is outsmarting the media by giving them speaking time unofficially.
[S]he has regularly interacted with the reporters who travel with her — but on her terms. She often visits the press in the back of her plane (something Biden has done only twice in more than three years), but speaks only off the record. And when she decided to comment officially on something in the news, Harris spoke to the pool on the tarmac, making statements but not answering questions.
“What is the incentive for them [to take more questions]?” said another person close to the campaign, who was granted anonymity to speak to Harris’ team’s view of the issue. “She’s getting across exactly the message she wants to get across.”
She plays with them and makes them feel like they’re getting something, but they’re not really doing their job. She can say whatever she wants without being held accountable or saying anything significant that could backfire on her.
Bottom line? She knows she has trouble answering normal questions and is trying to cover it up for as long as she can before she falls for it and the honeymoon is over. We saw them do the same thing with Biden, hiding him and avoiding things. Until they couldn’t anymore.
She’s made a lot of mistakes. Republicans should focus on that and her bad policies and keep harping on the fact that she’s not even willing to answer anything.
Both Fox’s Jesse Watters and Peter Doocy attacked Harris for her evasive strategy. Doocy spoke about Politico’s coverage. Watters pointed out that as a Democrat, you run to the media for rescue. How bad is it, he wondered, when you know it’s going to be so bad that the media can’t save you? This can’t go on, Watters added.

Even Van Jones of CNN said that things cannot continue like this.
It sounds like this strategy will ultimately backfire if even CNN is saying this and she is now being pressured.
