For over a year, the issue of government control of gas stoves in homes has been a source of controversy. The media has played along and the Biden administration has tried to impose restrictions on these appliances. But each time the issue has been raised, there has been significant public and political opposition, and then an abrupt change in message. The persistence of these efforts is typical of the left’s desire for control and its relentless pursuit of it.
As a result of constant pressure, it has just been announced that new regulations will be introduced for gas stoves. The Ministry of Energy has stated It will implement these new standards despite efforts by Congress to stop it, as well as bipartisan and public resistance.
It all started in January 2023, when the Consumer Products Safety Commission floated a kind of test balloon. Richard Trumpka Jr. made the comment that we need to rethink the safety aspects of gas stoves. Within a day there was a flood of media repeating this claim and making it sound like the most sensible thing to do was to get rid of these killer appliances. Then came the backlash, and it was so fierce that we just as quickly heard that there was in fact no call to get rid of these stoves.
On the second day, the press came forward to say that no one wanted to ban gas stoves and that this was nothing more than a conservative conspiracy hatched by those who wanted to start a culture war or something. What was telling was that we saw this 180-degree coverage not only in the media but also in the same channels.
Be amazed at how reticent the press has been on this issue, as evidenced by the @WashingtonbPost.
Twice attempts are made to accuse Republicans of lying or falling into hysteria for considering a ban on cookstoves, after the Washington Post TWICE REPORTED that cookstoves were being targeted. pic.twitter.com/pd3lCLIi6P

As ABC News reported, the narrative was two-fold: “These conservative nutcases are making this up” and “Of course they want to ban stoves, that’s only common sense.”
ABC News conducts a fact check on the reaction to the gas stoves:
– There is no reason to believe that these ovens could be banned.

The idiotic thing about this whole story of lies in the press is that they tried to claim that the resistance was based on a lie.”Nobody wants to ban the ovens“ was the prevailing claim after the outcry. Yes, just one problem, you simpletons: With the Trumpka interview that sparked the whole controversy Bloomberg’s headline stated that the CPSC “Consider banning gas stoves.”
After a while, when the excitement had died down, the discussion turned back to the idea of getting rid of these devices. This move, mind you, is being made against science. The original study was based on was deeply flawed and was widely derided by pragmatic thinkers. (Note: politicians and agenda-drivers are NOT pragmatic.) To obtain measurable levels of “hazardous” fumes, the study turned off ventilation and sealed off the area around the furnace.
In addition, government members seeking to ban gas stoves had to ignore another source – the government itself. The EPA had its own studyand declared these nightmarish, toxic devices to be largely harmless.
The Environmental Protection Agency says, “Gas stoves (and gas fireplace inserts) do not require EPA certification. Whether they are designed to burn natural gas or propane, they burn very cleanly and emit very few pollutants.”
Despite science and common sense, the bureaucrats were not stopped. There was an effort in the Senate, and Ted Cruz passed a bill, to stop this move toward a ban. Civil rights groups also opposed the move. But the Department of Energy has said that despite mighty opposition, this criticism “does not provide a reasonable basis for reversing the final rule.”
So there you have it. There was no demand for this measure, we saw opposition in Congress, numerous groups criticizing the measure, public opinion was strongly against it, and the science showed there was no justification for this move – and yet the administration continues with these rules. You should turn a burner to 10 and burn this rule right there and then.
Simply turn on your exhaust fan to prevent your family from being affected by the toxic fumes from toxic waste disposal!
