Even CNN notes how terrible Kamala’s economic proposals are; anchors criticize her in two separate segments

It should come as no surprise that journalists at outlets like RedState are not enthusiastic about Kamala Harris’ Soviet-style economic policy proposals. But it is alarming that even radical left-wing media are criticizing the vice president and Democratic presidential candidate because, in their eyes, she can usually do no wrong.

As my colleague Nick Arama wrote, even a Washington Post columnist slammed their ideas on Thursday in an opinion piece with the (nice, I must say) title: “If your opponent calls you a communist, maybe you shouldn’t propose price controls?”

Even CNN – normally a reliable mouthpiece for the Democratic National Congress – got in on the act with two separate segments harshly criticizing Kamala’s “price gouging” proposals that seem to come straight from Venezuela.

We start with the network’s economic and political commentator, Catherine Rampell, who railed against Kamala’s Marxist ideas for nearly two and a half minutes:

One of the moderators asked Rampell why she was skeptical about the price gouging suggestion. She had many reasons, starting with the fact that it is almost impossible to define the term:

…first of all, nobody can explain what price gouging means. It’s like the ancient saying about pornography; I know it when I see it. In the sense of what does it mean to have an inflated price or an inflated profit margin? That seems to be shorthand for a price or profit margin that bothers me, that seems too high.

She pointed out that unelected bureaucrats would take power (emphasis mine):

It won’t be the markets, it won’t be supply and demand that determines how much your grocery store charges for milk or eggs. It will be some bureaucrat in Washington, which seems completely unworkable at first.

We have seen that this has been tried in many other countries – Venezuela, Argentina, the Soviet Union, etc.. It leads to shortages, it leads to black markets, you know, [and] lots of uncertainty …

I can’t even believe this was allowed on CNN. But wait, there’s more! Host Abby Phillip also had a post expressing her dismay at how bad Kamala’s proposals are:

Phillip wondered aloud if it all just a trick.

In that segment, the moderator read a commenter’s criticism of the price control proposal – that it was designed to appeal to “economically uneducated” voters – and apparently agreed that it was a way to get economical votes from those who don’t understand how the economy works.

“Is this just a trick? Because it kind of sounds like it,” Phillip asked her guests. which included Representative Nancy Mace, RS.C.Democratic strategist Keith Boykin and Professor Michael Eric Dyson of Vanderbilt University.

If you’re a leftist and even CNN and the Washington Post are saying your ideas are too extreme, you know you’ve lost the plot. Voters need to wake up and make sure this woman never sits on the Resolute Desk, because if she does, we’ll find out for ourselves how Venezuela went from prosperity to despair.
