KANAWHA COUNTY, WV (WOWK) – The night of the West Virginia primary election sparked a riot at the state Capitol as several incumbent Republican senators lost, including Berkeley County State Senate President Craig Blair.

The Associated Press has called the Republican race for West Virginia State Senate District 15 for former U.S. Senate candidate Tom Willis. He will face Democrat Anthony Murray in the November general election.

State Senator Mike Maroney (R-Marshall) lost to Chris Rose. No Democrats have filed for the seat, according to the Secretary of State’s website.

State Senator Chandler Swope (R-Mercer) lost to Craig A. Hart. He faces Democratic challenger Randy Fowler.

State Senator Robert Karnes (R-Randolph) lost to Robbie Morris. He faces Democratic candidate Mandy Smith Weirich.
