BEST MORNING

After three nights of the DNC, the question remains: Where is Kamala’s father, Donald Harris?

It is understandable that people want to avoid the media spotlight and stay away from the political circus. But the fact that Donald Harris never mentioned and did not even appear at the DNC (not even via video) is disturbing.

Actor Jon Voight talks to RedState about the “Reagan” film and issues a dire warning

We must continue to raise our voices against this menace, and Jon Voigt deserves great credit for being one of the few heavyweights in Hollywood who is not afraid to fight for what is right.

Donald Trump attacks Kamala Harris in Truth Social, detailed response

Donald Trump can think quickly. He can react and answer questions without preparation and respond to unprepared talking points – quickly, smoothly and precisely. Kamala Harris can do none of that.

WHAT IS ON OFFER?

Today on Capitol Hill…

Friday. Summer. Post-DNC glamour. It was supposed to be a serene day on Capitol Hill. That’s good – it gave Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) the opportunity to celebrate his 70th wedding anniversary with his wife. Representative Colin Allred (D-TX), who is challenging Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) for his Senate seat, entered the stage at the DNC on Thursday night. Nothing against Allred, but I… don’t think Cruz is in any danger.

White House, what’s going on

President Joe Biden is still on vacation in California. Luckily, nothing huge is happening in the world right now. Speaking of which, I don’t think that show-off by Governor Gretchen Whitmer (MI) on Thursday night worked out as she intended…

The home stretch

Vice President Kamala Harris is freshly returning to Washington DC from her post as a Democrat. Now that Joe is out West, perhaps she will take the opportunity to put into action all the things she promised on day one of her presidency?

Former President Donald Trump will continue the second day of his eventful trip to the Southwest with an event in Glendale, Arizona. Promise to invite a “special guest” – before leaving for Las Vegas.

MORNING THOUGHTS

OK, so we survived it — four full days of DNCing. I’m almost done. As for Comma-La, I thought she did what she had to do. She gave a speech — mostly written by someone else — that was decent, if with a bit of an odd cadence/pace. (I gave her a B.) There were even a few moments where a hint of authenticity shone through, especially when she spoke of her mother.

While she didn’t muddle and stutter her way through the rest of the time, as he undoubtedly would have, she gave a speech that could just as easily have been given by Joe Biden—or whoever the DNC wanted to put forward as its recent champion. Lots of lies about the Republicans and their plans. Lots of grand promises about all the things she’ll do as president—while ignoring the fact that she’s done those same things for the last three and a half years as vice president, but somehow got nothing done. Is she saying that Joe doesn’t share that agenda? That he just got in the way?

In any case, she has done enough to satisfy party supporters. Will it be enough to sway undecided voters in swing states?

LIGHTER FOOD

You will receive two offers on Friday. First, this great shot of Mother Nature in all her glory:

And secondly – a calf riding a jet ski. Because who doesn’t need that in their life?
