A recently released video filmed by Nancy Pelosi’s daughter during the events of January 6 shows an furious Speaker of the House admitting that the National Guard should have been called out sooner as the riots developed. But when he saw an opportunity -“Never let a grave crisis go to waste”, to borrow the words of Obama’s former chief of staff Rahm Emanuel, the San Francisco liberal quickly realized she could exploit the situation to try to oust then-President Donald Trump.

It’s demanding to understand what she’s saying because everyone is wearing those ineffective, virtue-mongering COVID masks, but it’s pretty clear that she’s admitting, “We totally failed.” Decide for yourself:

“We have failed completely. We must take responsibility for not doing anything to ensure safety…[unintelligble]”

Pelosi, however, did not spend much time reflecting on herself and immediately turned to the question of how she could use this against the president she despisedDonald Trump.

During the attack on the Capitol on January 6, Nancy Pelosi focused on ensuring that Joe Biden was confirmed as president as quickly as possible. Then she turned her attention to Donald Trump.

“I’m just sickened by what he did to the Capitol and to the country today,” Pelosi said as she slumped, visibly exhausted, in the back seat of her SUV in the early hours of January 7. “He has to pay a price for that.”

Pelosi’s comment was included in about 50 minutes of unaired footage shot by her daughter, filmmaker Alexandra Pelosi, who was at the former speaker’s side during key moments on Jan. 5, 6 and 7, 2021. POLITICO reviewed the footage, which HBO turned over to the Republican-led House Committee on Administration this week.

However, many argue that Pelosi was responsible for security at the Capitol that day, not Trump. The House Committee on Administration reported in June:

This video shows Pelosi in a moment of leadership in which she recognizes that it is her responsibility as Speaker of the House to ensure the safety of Members of Congress on this day and every day. However, Pelosi never publicly took responsibility. Instead, she formed the select committee on January 6 with the goal of publicly holding Donald Trump accountable for her own mistakes.

They refer to another video recorded by Nancy’s daughter Alexandra in which the then Speaker of the House said, “I take responsibility.”

Afterward, Pelosi and her cronies discussed who should be fired for the security failure – Capitol Police officers, Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund, everyone but themselves. But then she got to her real target:

“Typical Trump” [former House Majority Leader Steny] Hoyer spoke up [commenting on Trump’s statement about the protests].

After a pause, Pelosi said, “Insurrection. That is a crime and he is guilty.”

Naturally, Trump’s statement said: “I know that everyone here will soon be marching to the Capitol to peacefully and patriotically raise their voices.” That is hardly a call for an “insurrection.”

Pelosi has once again proven herself to be one of the meanest and most vindictive politicians in Washington, DC in recent weeks. has marginalized Joe Bidenand while I have no pliable spot for possibly the worst president in our nation’s history, the cold-bloodedness of her coup was still appalling.

She will continue to blame others for the breach of the Capitol that day – but will she ever be held accountable for her own mistakes? Years ago, a friend worked for a book publisher, and one of the notes they made while editing was “TTDT.” What does that stand for?

“I rather doubt it.” A perfect summary.
