Believe it or not, there are still a few straggler states holding their primaries as we move into September. This week, Massachusetts is the only state with its statewide and congressional primaries. Here are some of the notable races:
- Senator Elizabeth Warren faces no Democratic challenger in the primary. On the Republican side, however, three candidates are vying for a chance to run against Warren in November: trial lawyer John Deaton, who is considered the favorite; former Quincy City Council member Ian Cain; and Robert (Bob) Antonellis, an engineer and self-described investigative journalist and documentary filmmaker who is considered the most pro-Trump of the three Republican candidates.
- As for the US House of Representatives:
Republicans are fielding candidates in only two of the races. Robert Burke, James Govatsos and Daniel Kelly are vying to take on Rep. Stephen Lynch of South Boston in the Eighth District. And Dan Sullivan is the only Republican running in the Ninth District against Rep. Bill Keating of Bourne.
Polls close Tuesday evening at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
