WATCH: Greg Gutfeld takes a blowtorch to the press and Democrats over the Arlington scandal

I admit that I haven’t watched Fox News in a long time for various reasons, but occasionally a clip catches my eye that’s just too good not to share. Most of the time, the source seems to be Greg Gutfeld, whose mix of comedy and pointed commentary offers something engaging compared to the same guests yelling on the split screen all day long.

On Tuesday night, Gutfeld took rhetorical aim at the Arlington National Cemetery “scandal” that is still being whipped up by the press and Democratic politicians. In a monologue lasting more than six minutes, he addressed nearly every dishonest talking point that has been raised over the past two weeks, and mixed in a lot of laughter along the way.

GUTFELD: But Trump went there at the families’ express request. After the private ceremony, which was closed to the press, a cemetery employee tried to stop the photographer because, as the cemetery explained, “federal law prohibits political campaigning or election-related activities there, which includes photographers.” True, but federal law does not prohibit what Trump did. Trump was invited by the families and they wanted pictures and he honored their request. But of course the mainstream media freaked out.

(Clips are shown in which the press freaks out and says, among other things, that Trump’s actions were criminal.)

GUTFELD: Criminal behavior, these bastards, and that’s when I have to say, Kamala decided to go to war with some of these Gold Star Moms to prove that at least someone on her ballot wasn’t running from the battle.

There is much more, but I think Gutfeld brings up an significant point: no one seems to be up for debate. All of the shameless reporting on this is based on the assumption that Trump and the Gold Star families broke the rules. But what is the actual evidence of this? Because even though we keep hearing about the cemetery worker who tried to intervene, that person (or the U.S. Army) has so far provided no details that would prove that the above rule was broken.

How did the employee know the picture with the Gold Star families was “campaign-related”? Did this person just assume so? Contrary to what many claim, it is not against the rules to take a picture at Arlington National Cemetery. How do I know? Because Democrats, including Joe Biden and Barack Obama, have done so multiple times without opposition. This whole “scandal” is based on a government employee being able to read minds and see into the future of a picture taken. And yet here we are, with the press Despite it suffer a nervous breakdown because of it.

From there, Gutfeld addressed Kamala Harris’ statement in which she attempted to politicize the ceremony as disrespectful to America’s war dead. He then pointed out the blatant hypocrisy of the press, which loves to report every part of this story. except the part where the Gold Star families repeatedly said (including on video) that they asked for the photo to be taken and that there was no political reason.

GUTFELD: What makes me irate is that I’m sure you haven’t seen this anywhere but Fox News. Strange how this story went from extremely engaging to nothing to watch here. The media can be in awe of Kamala’s fabrication, but where did the reaction of the gold star’s family find a home? At X, not classic news. Funny that this streak of disinterest only goes one way. It’s the same as their disinterest in Biden’s dementia for four years, the cushioned coup and the cover-up that caused it, Kamala’s rise to stardom in just a few weeks, which still baffles me to the core.

Gutfeld also pointed out that the press was obsessed with Trump’s bitter relatives and other irrelevant figures, but when the Gold Star families actually involved want airtime to tell their stories, but suddenly they’re no longer newsworthy. Earlier Tuesday, Jake Tapper got John McCain’s son to endorse Kamala Harris while ranting about Trump and Arlington National Cemetery. The unrecognized, unnamed son of a deceased senator was found to deserve more airtime on CNN than Gold Star families.

In the meantime, Tapper did something else.

Every part of Gutfeld’s criticism was well deserved. Press bias no longer affects only Republican politicians. It now paints Gold Star families as villains so Kamala Harris can boast about respecting the very people her incompetence killed. Think about how perverse that is.
