Something is happening in California. screwed by the Democratic Party Despite their promises of reparations, black Californians are threatening to sit out the 2024 election or sabotage it in favor of the Democrats; believe it or not, it is unprecedented that this voting bloc has actually threatened to exert its political power, however compact, in this way. As RedState reported, Democratic Senator Marie Alvarado-Gil decided to change her registration to the Republican Party. Political expediency? Probably, but this too is a sure sign that the Democratic stronghold in the state is showing significant fractures.

On Wednesday, the party suffered another blow. Gloria Romero, the former Democratic majority leader in the California Senate, has also decided to switch parties. Romero made the announcement on the steps of the state Capitol, joined by Steve Hilton, the California activist and host of The Steve Hilton Show, Jessica Milan Patterson, the Republican leader of the California Legislature, and Republican U.S. Congressman Kevin Kiley, who flanked her for full effect.

And here’s the kicker: Unlike Alvarado-Gil, Romero has indicated that she wants to vote for former President and Republican candidate Donald Trump.

You can now clutch your pearls.

Gloria Romerothe former Democratic majority leader in the California State Senate, announced on Wednesday that she is Republican Party and vote for Donald Trump in November.

Romero represented the 24th District, which includes parts of East Los Angeles and the San Gabriel Valley. She made her announcement at a news conference at the state Capitol, surrounded by California GOP Chair Jessica Millan Patterson, Assemblyman Kevin Kiley (R-Rocklin), Assembly Minority Leader James Gallagher (R-Yuba City) and conservative political commentator Steve Hilton.

“Today I say ‘goodbye, adios,’ I’ve had enough. I am now another Democrat who has been a Democrat for most of his life, joining the growing number of people leaving the Democratic Party,” Romero said. “This is not the Democratic Party I once championed. I no longer recognize it, and I cannot continue. I registered today as the sun came up to vote for the Republicans, who under Donald Trump have become the champion of working people, of the big tent. And in fact, I will be voting for Donald Trump this fall.”

REGARD:

In 2021, Romero supported Republican candidate Larry Elder in the recall of California governor, so the case was made. Romero just made it official. The Democrats are treating it like nothing.

As one of their first Latino females (Romero was the first woman to serve as majority leader before her term ended in 2010), they have lost a “standard bearer” that Democrats love to parade around to manipulate the Hispanic masses. Romero has made it known that she now supports Republican goals and the Trump-Vance contingent, particularly on the southern border. In early August, Romero appeared on Fox Business’ “Wall Street” with Maria Bartiromo before officially making her party switch. Romero exposed Vice President and Democratic nominee Kamala Harris’ record as San Francisco district attorney, as well as Harris’s California attorney general and vice president’s terrible record on the southern border, and lamented that the current Democratic Party is no longer the one she proudly gave her support to decades ago.

REGARD:

And as Porky Pig would end every episode of Looney Tunes, “That’s it, folks!” Whether it was a major blow or not, it definitely left an indelible mark on the Democratic Party in California and across the country. Rumor has it that when Democrats feel the need to react, it’s a sign that something is amiss.

The Democratic governor certainly hasn’t made things better, but that’s an understatement. Gavin Newsom has been on a scorched-earth vendetta since losing that shot at the presidency and being rebuffed by the Harris-Walz campaign. The nominal head of California’s Democrats was even rebuffed by his supermajority. When Newsom tried (again) to call a special session to discuss “price gouging” by the state’s refiners and oil producers, Democrats essentially told him to go to hell.

The story will undoubtedly play out in the coming hours and days, but it is already clear that California Democrats are no longer afraid of Newsom, are not committed to him, and will not stand by him. This does not bode well for his future career prospects.

Kamala may have really kicked this guy’s knees.

With a Democratic governor in freefall and citizens unhappy with the current state of Democratic leadership, California could well play a role in this election. We will continue to monitor the situation.
