Damning Republican House report on Afghanistan withdrawal concludes Biden ignored his advisers and lied to America

The House Foreign Affairs Committee’s more than two-year investigation into the deadly Afghanistan withdrawal orchestrated by Biden-Harris was partially released on Sunday, and the conclusions are devastating. The president was hell-bent on removing American troops at any cost, ignored his own advisers, lied to the public and took highly unsafe – and highly unacceptable – risks. The full report is expected Monday.

The committee did not mince its words in his conclusion:

“During his decades-long tenure as a U.S. Senator from Delaware, eight years as Vice President of the United States, and nearly four years as President, Mr. Biden has shown distrust of America’s military experts and advisers and has given priority to politics and his personal legacy about America’s national security interests,” says the 350-page report.

Biden and Harris have tried to blame Trump for the debacle – which left 13 US troops dead and many more injured – claiming that the “Doha Agreement” the Trump administration made with the Taliban regarding withdrawal dates tied their hands. The problem with that argument is that Biden has previously shown “little respect” for the agreement, and some in Biden’s own administration argued that the Taliban were violating its terms, making the agreement invalid.

According to the report, the Doha agreement was just a pretext anyway. Biden wanted to end the war so badly that he ignored the advice of his most senior advisers and blamed our NATO allies:

Biden made the decision to withdraw completely despite almost every military official advises against itsays the document.

“Despite President Biden’s public claims to the contrary, our investigation found that the Secretary of Defense, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the Commander of U.S. Central Command, the Secretary of State, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, and the Commander of NATO’s Resolute Support mission and U.S. Forces in Afghanistan all advised against withdrawing all U.S. troops from the country – both during and after the interagency review,” the report said.

The Harris-Biden administration also ignored the concerns of the international community and overrode the objections of other NATO countries stationed in Afghanistan to support the United States.

There is much more to the report, and RedState will continue to analyze the committee’s findings when the full version is released on Monday. In the meantime, there is already a lot of gnashing of teeth from the left, with the New York Times fears that the report is politically motivated to influence the presidential election and that Republicans tried to link Kamala Harris’ name to the disaster without evidence.

One problem: It Is Proof:

Chairman Mike McCaul appeared on CBS’s “Face the Nation” on Sunday to refute accusations that the timing was politically motivated. He argued that it took them two years to complete the report because they encountered obstacles at every step:

Regardless of the timing, this is the legacy of Biden and Harris – and no amount of manipulation will change that.
