WATCH: Another Democrat has big issues with Harris and says he can’t vote for her

Democratic strategist Doug Schoen has been a Democrat his entire life. Being a Democratic strategist is a pretty committed thing. But if you’ve watched him over the years, you know he’s also one of the few who’s kept his common sense. He always struck me as a classic liberal. That means that in today’s climate, he sometimes stands more to the right on issues where the left has often abandoned common sense.

Schoen was on a Fox panel on The Faulkner Focus and they discussed how with Harris, you don’t know what you’re going to get because she’s changed her positions. He said you’re getting a candidate who is trying to portray herself as a candidate with a “new path forward.”

He said he said this with a “smile on my face” because “we really don’t know what that new path forward is.” He said Trump needs to prove he has a plan for tax cuts and deregulation that is much more in line with what the American people want than “wealth redistribution and higher taxes.” Phew, brutally right.

Faulkner talked about how Schoen had previously decided he could not vote for Hillary, even though he had worked for Bill Clinton.

“I can’t do that at the moment. I would describe myself as undecided at the moment. But I can’t vote for her for reasons related to her change of position and also to the Middle East, as we have already discussed. I don’t think she is sufficiently committed to Israel and the fight against anti-Semitism.”

We’ve reported on this back and forth before, and how CNN has even called her out live in the past for her radical positions. Harris’ campaign even refused to question CNN about her positions, and only issued statements that said nothing.

The Democrats want to talk about Liz and Dick Cheney and a few neocons who support Harris as if they matter, while today’s Republicans and Republican-leaning people don’t really care about their opinion. If anything, it’s support for Trump. It also makes the Democrats look ridiculous in the eyes of their own people when they called Dick Cheney a warmonger for years and now support him.

However, it seems that more and more people are turning away from the Democrats and/or switching to the Republicans. There are Elon Musk, Robert F. Kennedy and some Silicon Valley entrepreneurs who don’t like the Democrats’ censorship measures. Then there are people like Alan Dershowitz, who thinks the Democrats have gone too far off course after a Democratic convention with “AOC, Sharpton, Liz Warren and Bernie Sanders; that’s not my party.” He said this has been brewing for some time and he now considers himself an independent. Then there are the masses of blacks and Hispanics who are switching to the Republicans because they see them as more economical and practical on everyday issues.

It’s uncomplicated to imagine Schoen going down the same path as Dershowitz, assuming he has any sense. Both he and Dershowitz are a harbinger of how other Democrats/Independents are likely to go in that direction on this issue as well. The Democrats have moved so far to the left, off track, that people in the middle don’t even recognize their own party anymore.
