While the fickle Kamala Harris laughingly claims she “now wants a border wall after years of saying building a border wall is racist and contrary to American values,” the realities of the Biden-Harris border crisis continue to be felt across America, including in diminutive towns.
One of those towns is Scotland, Pennsylvania, just outside Gettysburg. There, a plan to house up to 1,000 illegal immigrants in a Civil War-era orphanage has left the town’s residents in uproar. “It would turn the community upside down,” said a retired army colonel.
Officials in Greene Township cited a letter from a representative of USA Upward Staran Indiana-based disaster relief organization that wants to employ the historic building to “provide shelter for refugees[e] families.”
Here is more (Emphasis mine):
In an August letter to USA Up Star staff, Greene Township Zoning Commissioner Daniel Bachman wrote that the recent Use as a summer camp falls into the R-1 category – or low-density residential areas – Code and the Accommodation with higher density would not be permitted.
Fox News Digital has reached out to USA Up Star for comment. On its website, the company describes itself as “a disabled veteran-owned company founded in 2009 that provides world-class disaster, relief and response support during disaster, emergency, transgression and displacement operations.”
The organization recently responded to Bachman with the comment They are working with the federal government on this issue and would like more information about Greene Township’s zoning, according to a letter obtained by Fox News Digital.
Translation: USA Up Star is “working” – no doubt indirectly – with the Biden-Harris administration to somehow change the township’s zoning so that illegal immigrants can be housed in the building.
Things are getting weirder
State Senator Doug Mastriano (R-Gettysburg), who represents the region and is the Republican candidate for governor in 2022, said in an interview he was concerned about what was happening at the partially dilapidated property.
An cloudy wooden fence was recently erected around the building, the retired colonel said. Mastriano also said some critics have claimed that the building’s recent employ as a summer camp suggests that illegal immigrants are already being housed there.
The most problematic, according to Mastriano, is: “It would turn the community upside down. There are 1,300 people [in Scotland]and added that the number of illegal aliens and personnel could equal or exceed the city’s population. This is inexcusable. These obscene examples must also be highlighted by Trump and the Republicans virtually non-stop.
Mastriano, along with state Rep. Rob Kauffman (R-Chambersburg), said in a joint statement:
This is our home community. Our families live here alongside you and your families. We have been working with Congressman John Joyce to share information with him because he represents Franklin County and wants to make sure no federal funds come to Franklin County for this purpose.
Meanwhile, Ohio’s Republican governor, Mike DeWine, has “ordered that state troopers and additional funding be sent to the suffering city Springfield, Ohioto cope with the large influx of illegal immigrants from Haiti dropped off there by the Biden-Harris regime.”
Dewine said in a statement:
I want the people of Springfield and Clark County to know that we will continue to do everything in our power to lend a hand the community deal with this influx of migrants. The federal government has not shown that it has any plan to solve the problem. We are not going to just walk away.
On the contrary, Governor Dewine, the Biden-Harris administration has a plan, and this has been as clear as can be from day one of the most disastrous presidency in U.S. history: They are to import as many illegal immigrants as they can, for as long as they can, as part of a larger plan to permanently change the demographics of the country.

The cognitively unsophisticated Joe Biden and the fickle Kamala Harris were unavailable for comment, as were the obviously biased moderators of the ABC News debate, David Muir and Linsey Davis.
