Press report melts after truth about ‘bomb threats’ in Springfield comes to light

After the second assassination attempt on Donald Trump, a common refrain on the left was that political violence was a problem for “both sides.” MSNBC tried this line several times, as did some of the major newspapers. The idea was that you couldn’t criticize the Democrats’ rhetoric because the Republicans’ rhetoric had also caused problems.

So what evidence was there that this ambiguity was being used to distract from someone who wanted to assassinate Trump again? CNN’s Dana Bash provided a perfect example of this when she accused JD Vance of inciting “bomb threats” in Springfield, Ohio.

Of course, that claim was dubious from the moment she made it. Bomb threats are a dime a dozen. They happen every day and are historically harmless scaremongering. After all, why would an attacker make a bomb threat if he intended to cause harm with a bomb? That would defeat the purpose. Regardless, it is ridiculous to pretend that this is the same as an attempted assassination in which an actual shooter was shot and arrested.

However, there is another problem with the press line on these “bomb threats”. Not only were they all false, but they had no connection to any JD Vance supporters. There is not even any evidence that they were related to the Haitian migrant situation.

This was entirely predictable. As I noted above, bomb threats are basically all hoaxes. I can’t remember a single time a bomb threat was made before an actual bombing. I’m not saying it’s never happened in human history. I’m sure it has happened, but it’s certainly so infrequent that it almost never happens.

Usually a bomb threat is made as a joke or as a means of causing chaos. Using a series of bomb threats without knowing their origin or purpose to suggest that JD Vance and Donald Trump were inciting violence was baseless nonsense. It was also completely lucid. The Democrats never do not apply that standard to everyone on your side, even if the violence committed is undoubtedly real.

Will the mainstream press spread this modern information about these “bomb threats”?

I’m just going to spill the beans for everyone. Bash will never mention this story again. She won’t go on the air to tell the truth. She won’t apologize for blaming Vance and Trump for something they didn’t do. Instead, she’ll just move on to the next story without having to answer for the failure of the last one. That’s how the press always works, and that’s why no one should trust her to tell the truth.
