After the second assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump, you would think that the left would rethink the hateful, demonic rhetoric they always operate against him in order to win an election. That is, if they even had a conscience.
But as events unfolded, we quickly realized that the left and their acolytes in the media were as nasty as ever. So networks like MSNBC and NBC talked about Trump’s rhetoric, not the left’s rhetoric. There were even people on the left who initially claimed it didn’t happen, spreading yet another “staged” lie.

Would they tone down their demonization of Trump for even a minute?
According to New York Magazine writer Jonathan Chait, Trump is a “threat to democracy” and saying so is not “incitement.”
Yes, he really said that, the day after the second assassination attempt on Trump.
Donald Trump is a threat to democracy, and saying so is not incitement https://t.co/Yfp2bxlWxL

Translation? Continue with the rhetoric.
This claim is particularly ridiculous given that the current Democratic candidate was nominated by Biden and the elites without a single popular vote being cast in the primary for the top job, while the decrepit Joe Biden, who received more than 14 million votes from the American people, was thrown out of the race because the elite decided he would lose. So much for an attack on democracy.
Speaking of acting within the norms, the Democrats have now set a whole fresh precedent: No matter what the voters think, if we later decide that the person they voted for loses, we will do what we want.
Add to that the efforts to keep challengers off the ballot, and once again it’s not Trump who poses a “threat” to democracy. Oh, and let’s not forget the efforts to censor things that could be bad for Democrats, like the Hunter Biden laptop story. But that’s all apparently frosty if it benefits Democrats.
Then we talk about all the violent rhetoric the left has directed at Trump and his supporters. Apparently we’re just supposed to think that if it’s directed at Trump, that’s OK. That’s not a “threat to democracy.”

By the way, we actually had a Trump presidency. It was much better than the one under Biden and Harris.
Oh, and here is Chaits attempt to simply ignore the evidence of support for Democrats by Thomas Matthew Crooks and Ryan Routh.
Republicans claimed immediately after the first Trump attack that Crooks was a partisan Democrat, taking advantage of the long gap between the shooting and the investigation, which ultimately concluded that he simply wanted to assassinate a eminent presidential candidate and thought Trump was an easier target. The second shooter, Ryan Wesley Routh, has straddled the political spectrum and is, as Politico summed up his strange array of passions, “a long-troubled man with wildly fluctuating political views.”
So let’s just leave aside the alleged Democratic donations, and in Routh’s case, a whole host of other Democratic donations, the alleged voting in the 2024 Democratic primary, the attacks on Trump on his social media, or the evidence that he seems to have swallowed the Democratic mantra of “threat to democracy,” Chait doesn’t even mention any of that.
From what I understand, I don’t think they had come to a final conclusion about Crooks’ motive, and we’ve heard shockingly little about that investigation. And the alleged attempt to kill Routh just happened.
Chait was pushed into next week because of his ridiculous attitude.
At the same time, the media is now claiming that cat memes are responsible for the bomb threats in Springfield. But the entire Democratic Party is making the claim that Trump is an existential threat to the country a core theme of its campaign, and this has nothing to do with the people trying to kill him. https://t.co/WSfFKh0ofl

And it turned out that the “bomb threats” were false reports from abroad, while the mainstream media in the meantime launched their attacks on Trump because of them.

And that’s really what it’s about. We determine the story, and how dare you not just accept it?
