We have a lot of the solemn things that are going on in this country, some of which are undoubtedly a massive burden on the emotions, the mind and the soul.
With this in mind, I thought something lighter would be in order.
This brings me to the story of Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) and how, during a House hearing Thursday, she served up some ice-cold revenge on a woke CNN panelist who tried to pillory her a month ago during a CNN segment debating Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris’ campaign strategy.
During a heated exchange, Mace was heckled by two panelists at the time – Vanderbilt professor Michael Eric Dyson and author/left-wing commentator/Clintonist Keith Boykin – who both accused her of allegedly mispronouncing Harris’ name several times.
At one point, Dyson accused Mace of being racist for refusing to pronounce Harris’ name the way they wanted her to, saying, “This is white people’s disregard for black history and humanity.”

Here’s how it went, for those who missed it back then:
Michael Eric Dyson and I had to correct Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) at least 10 times last night for intentionally mispronouncing Kamala Harris’ name. “I will pronounce Kamala’s name however I want,” Mace said.

Now, a month later, Mace decided to have the last laugh at a House Oversight Committee hearing on the failings of the Biden-Harris administration.
Once it was her turn, Mace mentioned how it was often documented that Democrats, including President Joe Biden, sometimes pronounced Harris’ name differently than what we were told was the “correct” way. She used this as a segue into a flashback to how she was treated by Dyson and Boykin.
Except that Mace not only ranted about what was said during the segment, but also brought receipts detailing what happened after It:
“I also want to put on the record a screenshot of a text message I received after my CNN interview from distinguished Vanderbilt professor Michael Eric Dyson, who in this text asked me for photos. He said, after calling me a racist on CNN, ‘Shh, don’t tell anyone we look good together,’ and sent me a kiss emoji. The guy says I look stunning in all these photos. I don’t think he gets as annoyed as someone pronouncing Kamala.
And if we want to introduce this standard, we have to pass it on to both sides, not just one or the other.”

I should mention that Dyson is a married man.
As we’ve discussed before, Mace isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. But when she puts pressure on the woke left, she does it without breaking a sweat. And to her credit, she did more than that during this hearing.
