There are some great takeaways from Wednesday night’s episode of Fox News’ “Gutfeld!”, the popular late-night talk show with Greg Gutfeld. Many readers know that the special guest was Republican presidential candidate and former President Donald Trump. In case you missed it, RedState’s Nick Arama saved you the time and effort of tracking down a copy of the show and compiled the best bits from it in the article below:

Trump makes “Gutfeld” shine in a amusing and endearing performance

I would be remiss if I did not mention at the outset that Trump’s appearance helped make the one-hour show largest audience ever since it aired in 2021, the series has reached nearly five million viewers. To put that in perspective, it was not only the top show of the night on a cable network, but it outperformed every television show broadcast by any network.

Trump was alongside host Greg Gutfeld for the entire hour, engaging in the show’s signature conversations with Kat Timpf, Tyrus and “Outnumbered” co-host Emily Compagno. The former president was asked about what it was like to survive two assassination attempts, how the ABC presidential debate turned out and what criticism he gets from celebrities, among other things.

“Gutfeld!” averaged 4.9 million total viewers and 744,000 in the advertiser-coveted target group of adults ages 25-54. It was the largest audience “Gutfeld!” has attracted in both categories since its launch in 2021.

The season opener of “Gutfeld!” also beat the season openers of “The Bachelor” franchise spin-off “The Golden Bachelorette” and the long-running reality TV series “Survivor” on ABC and CBS, respectively, “making it the most-watched show in all of cable and prime-time television on Wednesday.”

In addition to the success of the evening program, the show was also able to appeal to the coveted target group of 25 to 54 year olds, which is most crucial for the advertising industry:

While Wednesday’s episode set records, “Gutfeld!” is consistently among the most-watched cable news shows in America, finishing August as the No. 1 cable news show in that key demo.

Media analyst Joe Concha said in an X-post about the show reaching the five million viewer mark: “That’s an insane number”:

But there was one significant moment that wasn’t seen on the show, a personal, real “off-camera” moment that you won’t see in any social media post. It’s one that seems to have deeply moved Greg’s buddy Tyrus and says so much about Donald Trump as a human being:

PA cookie poll shows sweet lead for Trump, but what people tell the bakery makes it even clearer

If you can see the post, he wrote about the special snapshot that captured the memory of a lifetime:

The only thing I will say about President @realDonaldTrump is that family comes first for him! He greeted my family like he’s known them for years! My daughter could have been his granddaughter! They talked about their horses, he told her a story, just a pretty moment he gave my daughter, no cameras, it was just a real moment because he’s a real man… #enoughsaid

How sweet is that? The contrast between Trump and Kamala, Comrade Tim, or most other high-ranking Democrats couldn’t be clearer. This isn’t something they could or would do. As we’ve seen time and time again, these cowardly people have to constantly act out of script and show compassion under the glare of the cameras. At the same time, it’s demanding to keep up with the real moments Trump keeps showing on the campaign trail. You can’t hide what kind of person you are – not even when you’re running for the highest office in the land.
