It seems high time for Virgin Islands Democratic Delegate Stacey Plaskett to take a break. In a recent wild tirade during a House hearing on the instrumentalization of government, she railed against all of the left’s favorite bogeymen, including former President Donald Trump, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) and X owner Elon Musk.
Plaques crazy diatribe seems to suggest that she may need a vacation from a psychiatric hospital, but also that she may simply be afraid of what might come out of the hearings.
Plaskett, a senior member of the special subcommittee, said the purpose of the investigative panel was to “test conspiracy theories, bolster the narratives that the far right wants to plant in the American psyche, and lay the groundwork for a dictatorial government under Donald Trump.”
“X, formerly Twitter, is going to call me a racist. They’re going to call me a disrespectful black bitch for speaking out about the chairman, my white male colleague on this committee. [that] “I am a tool of the woke agenda!” Plaskett claimed in the House of Representatives.

Plaskett continued to criticize the attacks on the FBI and the Justice Department, claiming that these entities “serve as a check on white nationalism, grand replacement theory advocates, Christian nationalists, white fragility, fascists, and twice-indicted and convicted felon, former president, and would-be dictator Donald Trump.”
She further claimed: “There is no evidence that the federal government, and in particular the FBI or the Department of Justice, are being used extensively as a weapon against the right.”
The delegate even went so far as to call Trump the “wannabe leader” of the Republicans.

Plaskett continued to repeat Democrats’ usual arguments about “disinformation,” claiming the committee was being misused to “promote the desires of far-right conspiracy theorists, particularly Elon Musk.”
“In order to give them free rein on these platforms, American civilians were harassed, threatened, and had their identities exposed,” Plaskett claimed without a shred of evidence.
In a particularly odd form of sensationalism, Plaskett told Musk: “If you think tweeting about me, xing me, or whatever you call it on your platform is going to scare me and silence me, then you obviously don’t know what I’m made of!”
Of course, Plaskett was just putting on a show and giving the nation a bit of embarrassing political theater. But if she’s right and the government hasn’t been used as a weapon, what is she afraid of?
The truth is that Plaskett and her allies know full well that they have used various government agencies against Trump and his supporters. In fact, the state has been used as a cudgel against the right in various ways. They have used the government against Trump, pro-lifers, and gun owners with impunity.
Plaskett will either have to go back on her medication or hope that her performance was emotional enough to convince the public to ignore the revelations that are sure to come to airy at these hearings. Unfortunately for the congresswoman, she still needs to work on her acting.
