According to a year-long research project by the Heritage Foundation, the Chinese Communist Party is actively exploiting the climate change agenda to make the United States more dependent on China and, more ominously, more vulnerable.
The project, which includes three reports, has the brilliant name “Chinese handcuffs,” with the explanation:
The symbolic “Chinese handcuffs”, which become increasingly tighter during escape attempts, represent the radical environmental agenda and its consequences. Under the Biden administration, the trend has accelerated significantly: the closer America gets to China, the greater the disadvantage for American energy independence and energy consumers, while at the same time Chinese interests are strongly favored.
Heritage nailed it, right?
Diana Feargott-Roth, director of the Heritage Center for Energy, Climate, and Environment, discussed a frightening scenario while explaining one OnStar Software feature in General Motors cars that can ponderous or stop a stolen vehicle.
Imagine if, because we’ve been involved in some difficulties between China and Taiwan, the Chinese Communist Party decided to stop all electric vehicles in the United States remotely, or worse, by tampering with their navigation systems, or by tampering with their braking systems, and make sure they don’t work. This poses a major national security threat to us.
Meanwhile, Florida Republican Senator Marco Rubio warned in early September that while the Biden-Harris administration has tried to publicly portray a tough stance on China, its track record undermines its rhetoric. Rubio spoke specifically about computer chip and semiconductor technology and said in one Press release:
I write to express concern about major weaknesses in the U.S. Department of Commerce’s export controls, which allow companies with ties to the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) armed wing, the People’s Liberation Army (PLA), access to cutting-edge semiconductor technology manufactured in the United States.
Semiconductors remain the lifeblood of the 21st century technological revolution. Cutting-edge chips are among America’s most advanced developments in computer hardware. As you know, these semiconductors have widespread military application, promoting capabilities such as artificial intelligence to give the military an advantage on the battlefield, which the CCP itself has written about extensively.
Preventing America’s adversaries from weaponizing these components for nefarious purposes is critical to our national security. The American government cannot afford to stand idly by as the CCP steals sensitive technologies and fuels the growth of the PLA through its military-civilian fusion strategy.
I read this twice, and so should every voter who cares about the security of this country.
During a presentation of project proposals Feargott-Roth spoke about a reality that she sees as a “mystery.”
We should roll back regulations that require us to operate wind turbines, solar panels, electric vehicles, and rely on electric batteries – because China makes all of them. In all these areas it dominates the world. And why we mandate this Chinese-made equipment is beyond me.
Given the dire possibilities, particularly China’s increasing threat to Taiwan and its global dominance, it doesn’t take a proverbial rocket scientist to figure out the increasing threats to America. But as Rubio pointed out, the Biden-Harris administration was robust on rhetoric and frail on action.
Feargott-Roth also said that one of the project report proposals is a ban on Chinese-made electric vehicles, which is also a given.

The second report, titled “Don’t Let the US Military Become Dependent on Green Energy from China,” argues that America’s faltering energy system undermines our ability to deter China as an enemy capable of protracted war poses a solemn threat to the nation’s security.
The third report, “How Forced Energy Transition and Dependence on China Will Hurt America,” details how China is dominating the global green energy supply chain and increasing America’s dependence on the country for the energy transition.
