The Democrats are in large trouble keeping the Senate.

Right now, it looks like Rep. Tim Sheehy (R-MT) is likely to beat Sen. Jon Tester (D-MT). Then the race is over in Ohio, as Bernie Moreno is ahead of Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) in some of the most recent polls. The race in Pennsylvania between Sen. Bob Casey (D-PA) and Dave McCormick (R) is also getting tighter, as my colleague Sister Toldjah reported.

The momentum seems to be moving in the right direction.

Now it’s the Wisconsin race between Sens. Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) and Eric Hovde (R) that has Democrats panicking. according to Axios.

There is growing fear among Democrats about how quickly the Wisconsin Senate race Axios has learned that the situation is getting worse and party insiders fear they could shockingly lose the crucial contest.

Why it matters: Sen. Tammy Baldwin’s (D-Wis.) The lead in public and internal polls has worsened, and Republicans are flooding the state with money to create a buzz.

  • Baldwin leads by just two points in internal Democratic polls, a source familiar with the campaign told Axios. That’s much closer than what public polls have shown for months.
  • Democrats are on track to spend more money than Republicans in the state each week through Election Day, with a contribution of about $20 million from Republican sources.

This should have been a relatively safe and sound seat, but not so much anymore.

Multiple Democratic sources told Axios that “alarm bells” were ringing in the state, arguing that the race was much closer than public polling had shown.

One Democratic strategist was particularly critical of a recent Marquette poll that had Baldwin up by seven points, saying he was much closer. Also other public surveys Have it closer. Trafalgar and Cook Political have them two points ahead; Atlas Intel is only one point ahead. That’s a wide range between one and seven, so we’ll have to wait and see how it breaks down further.

Baldwin also didn’t go to the Harris event in Wisconsin on Thursday, which was an captivating move. This was the event where Harris hilariously praised Liz and Dick Cheney, despite what the left had said about Dick Cheney in the past.

Was this a dodge by Harris on the track? If so, I don’t think that will work for the people of Wisconsin. Republicans also agree that it is winnable and will invest a lot of money leading up to Election Day.

If Baldwin loses, Harris will likely lose in Wisconsin too. If Baldwin loses, given the dynamics in the other close Senate races, her hopes of remaining in the Senate are likely doomed as well.
