It appears that efforts to criminally indict former President Donald Trump and his running mate, Sen. JD Vance (R-OH), for repeating rumors about Haitian migrants have failed miserably.

A three-judge jury in Ohio decided against issuing arrest warrants for Trump and Vance after a Soros-funded group called the Haitian Bridge Alliance (HBA) accused them of inciting bomb threats against members of the Springfield community. The allegations centered on claims by both men that Haitian immigrants reportedly ate residents’ cats and dogs.

Guerline Jozef, co-founder and executive director of the San Diego-based Haitian Bridge Alliance, took advantage of an Ohio law that allows private citizens to file criminal charges. On September 24, she filed her first affidavit against the Republicans, accusing the two of them of nine criminal violations, both felonies and misdemeanors.

Jozef’s affidavit came after Vance alleged that the Haitians moved to Springfield illegally and ate the residents’ dogs, cats and wild geese.

Trump then expressed the unfounded rumors during his debate against Kamala Harris.

Instead of issuing the warrants, the panel referred the matter to Clark County Prosecutor Daniel Driscoll for further review. If he has any sense, he will answer the accusations with a wink and go about his business.

The Haitians in question are living in the United States under momentary protected status. Gov. Mike DeWine (R) and other officials said there is no evidence these people eat other people’s pets.

The issue sparked nationwide controversy amid ongoing debates over immigration policy and the border crisis. According to several reports, schools and other institutions were threatened with bombs in 33 cases.

Racist hate groups like the Ku Klux Klan used the opportunity to distribute leaflets urging white residents to fight immigration.

The HBA’s complaint alleged that Trump and Vance had a “direct influence” on the bomb threats. “Like those who mistakenly say ‘Fire!’ call. “In a crowded theater, Trump and Vance are not toeing the lines of the First Amendment,” the group argued. “They are committing criminal acts.”

Regardless of the veracity of the claims, the HBA’s actions were nothing more than political posturing. These people didn’t believe at all that they could file criminal charges against two politicians for spreading a rumor. Actually this activity Is protected by the First Amendment.

But there is more to this organization than meets the eye. They are not your average immigrant advocacy group. They are funded by George Soros’s Open Society Foundation. The organization kicked out According to its website, HBA is scheduled to receive $50,000 in 2020 and $500,000 in 2021.

In one opinionThe foundation announced its donations to various organizations created to support Haitian immigrants. It explained that the funding “will help provide legal services to Haitian asylum seekers arriving at the southwest border and support advocacy to protect their rights” and “will enable Black-led organizations to advocate more broadly.” “To advocate for the humane treatment of all black immigrants seeking safety and stability in the United States.”

This was nothing more than a political ploy designed to attract attention from my seat. It was doomed, as it should be.
