On Sunday, Jennifer Lund, 30, and Timothy Parks, 45, were driving a Tesla and listening to a raunchy rap song called “F*** Donald Trump” by YG featuring Nipsey Hustle when they decided to park outside a house with a pro-Trump yard sign. It wasn’t the first time the two chose to perform this song in front of this very house, but it was the first time their targeted harassment landed them on the wrong side of a gun and left them facing multiple criminal charges.

According to police, three men approached the vehicle shortly after it parked in front of the home in the northwest Las Vegas Valley, one of whom later struck Parks. The incident was captured on surveillance video.

Court documents obtained from 8NewsNow said:

Parks parked his Tesla in front of the apartment building, Lund in the passenger seat… [playing] the song ‘[Expletive] Donald Trump. Seconds later, three men approached the vehicle – one later struck Parks.

Police said one of the men then pulled out a gun and pointed it at the car. Next, the video shows the driver running over a man’s foot and then driving away. Police report that at least seven bullets hit the vehicle. A victim told police that Lund yelled at him as the car approached the house, causing the man to hit Parks before driving off, reversing and running over his foot. The person who fired the gun said he feared for his life and is not currently facing charges in the incident.

Court documents indicate that Lund felt justified in harassing the homeowners:

Lund has since explained [the people] If they put the Trump sign in her yard, she feels like she has every right to tell them what she thinks. Lund shared that this wasn’t the first time she went to this house to play.[Expletive] Donald Trump song. Lund states that she hates Donald Trump and hates every person who represents or votes for him.

Police say Lund has harassed the homeowners several times. The two face charges of assault, battery and stalking.

Las Vegas Justice Court Judge Rebecca Saxe set bail for Lund and Parks at $20,000 each. As of Thursday, both defendants remained in custody at the Clark County Detention Center.

Fortunately, no lives were lost in this incident of politically motivated harassment and attacks. However, there is a worrying trend where anti-Trump activists feel entitled to target people with different views. The same sentiments that fueled the assassination attempts on former President Donald Trump — coupled with the Biden administration’s labeling of the Republican candidate and his supporters as “MAGA extremists” and “threats to democracy” — contribute to this type of street violence in our communities.

Extreme rhetoric disrupts the peace as citizens prepare for a seemingly dead election. As we approach the election, voters must prioritize their safety and well-being.
