It was a question then-GOP candidate Ronald Reagan asked in 1980 as he smoked Jimmy Carter with one of the most notable lines in debate history: “Are you better off than you were four years ago?”
Game over, TKO – the Fat Ludy sang that evening.

After enduring nearly four years of a disastrous Biden-Harris administration, Gallup asked voters Same question, and the results are terrible, terrible, no good, very bad if you’re Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris. A staggering 52 percent said hell no:
More than half of Americans (52%) say they and their families are worse off today than they were four years ago, while 39% say they are better off and 8% say they are about the same. Of the presidential election years in which Gallup has asked this question, the response in 2024 most closely resembles that of 1992.
In 1992, of course, George HW Bush lost to up-and-coming Arkansas governor Bill Clinton. At the time, 46 percent of respondents said they were no better – a number lower than current results, making the situation even more problematic for Kamala’s chances.

There’s more bad news for Ms. Harris:
Gallup also noted that its economic confidence index remains at -26, which is “one of the worst readings of an election year.” The dissatisfaction comes as respondents cite the economy and inflation as the most crucial issues facing America.
“Historical trends suggest that perceptions of personal well-being and economic confidence can have a significant impact on election outcomes. With a majority of Americans feeling like they are no better off than they were four years ago, economic confidence remains low, and fewer than half of Americans say now is a good time to find a quality job, The economy will be an important consideration at the ballot box this yearsays Gallup. “As inflation continues and economic concerns dominate voters, the upcoming election could hinge on which candidate can best address these pressing issues.”
We all know inflation has been bad, but looking at the numbers side by side should be a substantial wake-up call for anyone who is still undecided.
It’s time for people to put their personal feelings aside and vote for the best candidate for their families.

The reality is that every one of us who isn’t super wealthy feels a lot poorer than we did in 2000, no matter how demanding the media and Democrats try to tell us the economy is fabulous. Going to the cinema, going to a restaurant with the family, even filling up the car with gas – all of these activities have become significantly more painful for our bottom line due to Bidenflation. Harris, of course, was the decisive vote to the idiotically named Inflation Reduction Act, so it’s hers:

Then why is the choice even close? I would argue that A) it simply cannot be; Polls have significantly underestimated Trump’s support in the last two cycles. B) Many on the left are so committed to their extremist causes that they don’t actually care that the country is in solemn decline, and C) the mainstream media regularly lies to the American people and is essentially an arm of the Democrats Party. Despite the great progress we have made with conservative media, a immense portion of people still rely on archaic media and blindly absorb everything they are told. I know members of my own family who wouldn’t argue with the articles and facts we publish here at RedState – they would simply deny that those facts even exist. “I didn’t see that,” they said, as if that didn’t make it true.
Many of them have never heard of the Hunter Biden laptop story, let alone the recent CBS News scandal in which the network was caught red-handed trying to influence voters’ opinions of Kamala.
It sounds crazy, but talk to anyone who relies on The New York Times and CNN for their news and you’ll quickly understand what I’m talking about. You literally know about half of what you do if you read here regularly.
However, even the gaslight media and the Democratic Party are having a demanding time selling this shockingly terrible candidate. Make sure you and your family vote and prevent her from ever sitting behind the Resolute Desk.
And let your browser point to RedState.
