Another Democrat from California who downplays his radicalism and glosses over his experience as a prosecutor

It’s clear that the Democratic Party is trying to convey a unified message in this election campaign: They are the party of law and order, they support the military, and their candidates are pragmatic and just want to bring unity and common sense to a divided and confused country, rather than being the radical leftists that we know many of them to be. From Kamala Harris on down, that’s the picture, and if the candidate is a lawyer and they can claim that that candidate is a lawyer and has ever worked as a prosecutor, they’re going to claim that that candidate is the toughest prosecutor you’ve ever seen.

Usually, however, it is not too complex to find a way to look behind the carefully maintained facade.

One example is Will Rollins, who is running in a Southern California district dominated by the party leadership. Like Harris, he poses as a tough prosecutor and points to his grandparents and his heritage to disguise his radical views.

Here’s some of what he says in the video, and as far as his opinion on what Republicans stand for, it’s pretty unbelievable at first glance:

They taught me that Republicans stand for smaller government, personal responsibility, law and order, and resistance to Russia.

The reason I am a Democrat today is because the party my grandparents once believed in no longer stands for any of that, but only for extremism and the politics of division…

My career has been dedicated to public service, first working for a Republican governor, then in counterterrorism at the Department of Justice and as a district attorney in Riverside County.

He also claims that as a prosecutor he cracked down on MS-13 and cross-border drug traffickers. More on that in a moment, but at least he was actually a prosecutor, unlike fellow California Democrat Kipp Mueller, whose bogus background RedState exposed last week.

Yet someone who does not believe in “extremism and the politics of division” does not laud Nancy Pelosi as the greatest Speaker of the House in U.S. history, nor does he vow to make Hakeem Jeffries the next Speaker, as Rollins did at a recent online event.

RedState obtained a video of the event. In this clip, he praises Pelosi and essentially pledges his loyalty to both Pelosi and her daughter Christine:

He said:

And of course, thanks to the greatest Speaker of the House in U.S. history, Nancy Pelosi, for her incredible support since 2022. You know, when I started this second campaign, she said something to me that has stuck with me to this day: “You are in the second phase of a double whammy,” and we will finish the job in November, thanks to the lend a hand of Team Pelosi and, of course, the wonderful Christine Pelosi, who has also had my back since 2022. So thank you, Christine, for all your lend a hand.

Of course, as a candidate in a swing seat he is targeting, Rollins is expected to say things like, “Let’s take back the House and put Hakeem Jeffries as speaker.” But Hakeem Jeffries is still a complete radical whose views do not align with those of voters in Rollins’ district.

Rollins said:

We’re going to win this thing and Hakeem Jeffries is going to be the next Speaker of the House. Thanks, guys.

And Pelosi has some kind words for him, if you can understand them despite the insult.

Pelosi called Rollins a “star” and got personal about incumbent GOP Rep. Ken Calvert:

“Listening to Barbara, I can agree with her on every level, especially the contrast between these two candidates. Will Rollins, as Barbara went through his accomplishments and those of the rest of them, is a star. He’s very special because he represents the people of this district, and the other guy is not. I mean, it’s a disgrace. I mean, he’s a terrible human being.”

Ben Petersen, NRCC’s Western press secretary, believes Rollins’ comments on this video show who he really is:

“Will Rollins is an extremely liberal wolf in sheep’s clothing. The conniving conman Rollins poses as a moderate politician in public, while behind closed doors he swears unconditional loyalty to Nancy Pelosi and Kamala Harris.”

Rollins was also in the news this week when Washington Free Beacon reviewed some of the cases he prosecuted as an assistant U.S. attorney – and according to their analysis, Rollins was easygoing with drug dealers and routinely dismissed gun charges.

Rollins, who is openly gay and lives in Palm Springs… says He “served in law enforcement to protect our communities from drug dealers and gangs.” But Haskins’ case was not an isolated one: Rollins helped a number of meth dealers obtain convenient confessions that Free Beacon Reviewing dozens of court records, they were caught smuggling thousands of doses of meth throughout Central California.

Rollins says he wants to strengthen law enforcement task forces to Target gang crimeBut when a member of a meth-dealing gang faced life in prison in December 2016, Rollins was able to convince the court to sentence him to only ten years.

Rollins’ platform also includes stricter gun control, but he dropped gun charges against two dealers. The Democrat also dropped some charges and sentences against an illegal immigrant who helped sell two pounds of meth – enough for about 9,000 doses – and a dealer who left his children alone with a customer in his car while he picked up drugs for the transaction.

That’s not how we protect our communities from drug dealers and gangs. And being a prosecutor is not the same as being a police officer. It’s kind of weird that Democrats keep saying that it is.
