California Governor Gavin Newsom is failing, and he knows it. Every time he does his usual gaslighting and tap dancing exercises when confronted with his culpability in the state’s failure to address the wildfires in the Los Angeles area, he runs into a wall of facts. Then he comes across his favorite misinformation. Anything that challenges his view of reality must be wrong.
In a Jan. 10 video conference with Newsom, President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris that discussed federal resources and support for firefighters fighting the numerous wildfires that were causing destruction, Newsom blabbed about why he Funds needed to combat it Misinformation.
You can’t make this up.

Whether or not Newsom receives these federal funds for the misinformation cause in question, he knows that the funds he receives will not be available immediately and are now being sifted through a Republican-controlled Congress. Always impatient, especially when he wasn’t in control, Newsom decided he needed to check the facts himself. Newsom set up a website not through the California governor’s office but on his own campaign website to disseminate “fact-based data” about the Southern California wildfires.

However, if you click the button, you will be taken to a fundraising page that connects to ActBlue, the Democrats’ campaign finance arm.
Democrats are already under fire, thanks to Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and the Obama brothers of Pod Save America, who have funneled donations for fire victims to the ActBlue website. A percentage of everything donated through the Treasury Department automatically benefits the Democratic Party. Greasy Gavin just stays true to his style.
The egregious thing about this tactic is that the California Fire Foundation is a 501(c)3 organization that accepts its own donations through its own website. So why not link to their website? Typical Newsom – politicizing a tragedy while exploiting Americans’ goodwill toward their victims.
But what about all this misinformation? Is Newsom right in his TRUTH when he fights the lies?
We all know the answer to that. Newsom declared in an interview that all the reservoirs were full, only to be reminded on live television that the Santa Ynez Reservoir, which was supposed to have provided water to fight the Palisades Fire, was bone arid. As my colleague Nick Arama reported, he was confronted by a correspondent about his own misinformation. Newsom claimed it was a lie that he had cut forest management funding and that California had increased forest management funding 10-fold since his time in office. Isn’t it fascinating that all the lies and disinformation only point in one direction?
An even clearer sign that Newsom is losing his disinformation war is the fact that he isn’t actually lying but attacking people. Newsom has already expressed his displeasure with Elon Musk, who, as a former resident and business owner in California, drew Newsom’s attention to his failures and also showed enormous support to the victims and firefighters.
Now Newsom is turning his ire on Rep. Bill Essayli (R-Riverside), who has been a fierce critic of Newsom’s lack of leadership. Essayli recently appeared on Salem Media Group radio host Larry Elder’s podcast to talk about it.

Newsom decided to play the comparison game by reposting Essayli and then pointing out the bills supposedly dealing with fire suppression and management that Essayli had voted against in the Assembly.

Of course, Newsom made sure to link to his fact-checking website. Newsom’s delusions include this: If he says it out of his mouth or posts it on X, then it is like that. The homegrown team at California’s time-honored media rarely questions or fact-checks its extensive untruths. Essayli voted against these bills for good reason, and he told Newsom’s “facts” with the truth: These bills included incentives for high-speed rail to nowhere, more homeless funding, and gifts to illegal immigrants.

They and the Democratic majority in the House passed a ridiculous budget that cut critical funding for wildfire prevention and instead funded:
– $5 billion a year to provide free health care to illegal immigrants
– $4.2 billion for a fraudulent high-speed rail project to nowhere
– $24 billion for homelessness programs with ZERO results
Presumably Newsom was misinformed about who he was dealing with when he ran against Essayli. Any presidential ambitions Newsom had are burning, with zero percent containment; Despite his best efforts and these claims to combat misinformation, he has failed to extinguish these flames.
