I knew the national press was deeply cynical and dishonest, but they’re painting their masterpiece in the wake of Joe Biden’s decision to step down as the Democratic Party’s 2024 presidential nominee. With Kamala Harris now all but certain to succeed him, her entire political career is being rewritten in real time, and thanks to Axios, that’s not just a rhetorical argument. It’s quite literal.
As RedState reported earlier on Wednesday, the left-wing outlet published an article attacking Republicans for calling Harris the country’s “border czar.” There was just one problem. Axios published an article in 2021 saying she was one.
Both the Trump campaign team and the Republicans have repeatedly given Harris the title of “border czar” – which she never actually held.https://t.co/PPHCjKBf83

What’s the first rule of holes? Something you don’t dig deeper for? After Axios was caught with its pants down, the company didn’t back down and admit it was wrong. Instead, it added an editor’s note throw yourself under the bus Harris as a “border czar.” In other words, an entire article was written to claim that Republicans were lying, and in the end, Axios had to admit that it had exactly the same.
Hahahahaha. I don’t want to laugh, @StefWKightbut I think we have our answer. See folks, Stef and other editors have criticized the GOP for calling Harris the “border czar” even though THEY CALLED IT HERE TOO! 🤣🤣

To make a historical comparison: this behavior is downright Soviet.

The facts are basic. Joe Biden concrete and direct Kamala Harris was put in charge of the ongoing border crisis in 2021. This is not a Republican conspiracy theory. It is not a dishonest portrayal of her role. Biden’s words were not ambiguous, nor was the breadth of coverage afterward praising Harris for taking on such an significant role.
Now that it’s clear that it failed miserably in that task, the press wants to take it all back and pretend it bears no real responsibility for the disaster that continues to unfold. Call it Soviet, Orwellian, or worse, it’s incredibly creepy to see the lengths to which supposed “news” media are willing to go to protect Harris. This is not how the press should operate.
Regardless, such silly semantic games will not prevail. Harris is not a bystander. She is the vice president of one of the worst administrations in American history. Not only was she tasked with helping to solve the core problems at the border (spoiler: she didn’t), but she bears responsibility by virtue of her office. The press can make a fool of itself if it insists on this. Nobody believes it.
