We have heard a lot of negative reactions from the left and the media to the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump.
But the opinion of one person, Jacqueline Marsaw, who reportedly worked for Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS), has to be among the worst. She posted a meme saying, “I don’t condone violence, but please take some shooting lessons so you don’t miss next time. Oops, that wasn’t me talking.” She implied that Trump’s shooter shouldn’t have missed:
NEW: Congressman Bennie Thompson (D-MS) has his staff fired after he suggested in a social media post that Trump’s shooter should not have missed. @BennieGThompson Opinion:

Thompson issued a statement after an understandable uproar over the employee’s meme.
“I was made aware of a post by an employee and she is no longer employed by me,” he said.
There were a lot of comments like that from people on the left, like, “Sorry he missed.” That’s what the left has been drumming into making Trump into a Hitler.
Marsaw’s comment is awful and Bennie Thompson is now trying to run away from it. But given his past actions, it’s a bit overdue.
Thompson has been involved in demonizing Trump. He led the January 6 committee, whose goal was apparently to bring down Trump. As we reported, he also tried in April to pass legislation that would strip Trump of Secret Service protection if he were found guilty of a crime.

Thompson is now in turmoil. Here’s what he posted on X about the assassination attempt. He said there was no room for political violence, he was “glad” Trump was sheltered, and that his “thoughts and prayers are with everyone involved”:
There is no place for political violence in American democracy. I am grateful for law enforcement’s swift response to this incident.
I am glad that the former President is sheltered and my thoughts and prayers are with everyone involved.

But people didn’t believe him. Many criticized him because of X.
You tried to withdraw his secret service protection. Why don’t you just sit it out?

Donald Trump Jr. painted it drastically, saying that if Thompson had gotten his way, his father would be dead now. He called on people not to let Thompson’s attempt to achieve be forgotten:
Remember when @BennieGThompson and the Democrats had prevailed, my father would be dead now. Don’t let them forget that. pic.twitter.com/KUdYx1AIAs

Exactly. He may be crazy now, but we won’t forget it.
