(The hill) — President Biden will sit down with NBC News’ Lester Holt for an exclusive interview that will air Monday, the network announced Wednesday.
The interview will be recorded in Austin, Texas, and will air in full as part of a prime-time network special beginning at 9 p.m. Eastern Time.
NBC said portions of the interview will air earlier in the day on NBC Nightly News and on NBCNews.com.
Biden’s meeting with NBC’s top news anchor comes just days after he gave a similar interview to ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos, which also aired in prime time.
The president is facing increasing questions about his mental health, and some Democrats are calling on him to drop out of the 2024 presidential race following his destitute performance at the debate two weeks ago.
Monday night is also the first night of the Republican National Convention, which could be a divided moment for the country as voters weigh a face-off between Biden and former President Trump in the fall.
