Washington (AP) – The former doctor of President Joe Biden refused on Wednesday to answer questions as part of the Republican investigation by House Republican in Bidens Health.

Dr. Kevin O’Connor arrived during an interview with the House Oversight Committee and his lawyer and his legislator under the fifth amendment.

The Republicans of the Supervisory Committee charged O’Connor last month as part of their extensive examination of bidens health and his intellectual fitness as president. They claim that some guidelines that were carried out during Biden’s term by using the White House’s autopen could be illegitimate if it has been proven that the Democrat was mentally out of action for part of his term.

Biden emphasized that he was never in a real state of mind in office and described the claims as “ridiculous and wrong”.

David Schertler, one of O’Connor’s lawyers, said that the doctor had “no choice” when his fifth rights of amendments to the committee. Schertler quoted O’Connor’s responsibility to protect the privacy of patients as a doctor and the ongoing examination of the car by the Ministry of Justice.

MP James Comer from Kentucky, the supervisory chair, said O’Connor’s refusal to say “made it clear that there was a conspiracy”.

“The American people demands transparency, but Dr. O’Connor would rather hide the truth,” said Comer in an explanation.

Witnesses routinely appoint their fifth amendments in the certificate of the congress. Allies of President Donald Trump, for example, ran their rights when they refused to testify the committee that examined January 6, 2021, attacked the Capitol by a lot of his followers.

Comer was looking for statements from almost a dozen former bidges when he carried out his investigation, including the former chiefs of the White House, Ron Klain and Jeff Zient. Former high -ranking consultants Mike Donilon and Anita Dunn; Former deputy chief of staff Bruce Reed, former advisor of President Steve Ricchetti, former deputy chief of staff Annie Tomasini and former assistant of President Ashley Williams.

He also issued a summons for Anthony Bernal, the former chief of staff of the former First Lady Jill Biden.

Trump’s white house has the Executive Privilege, a right that protects many communications between the president and the employees of the congress and the courts for almost all of these managing employees. This clarifies the way for these employees to discuss their conversations with bidges while he was president.

Rep. Robert Garcia from California, the top democrat in the supervisory committee, dismissed the Republican investigation as a waste of time.

“The supervisory republicans could reduce the costs for American families and carry out the corruption of President Trump, but instead obsessed the past,” he said.

Comer said his committee would publish a report on all results after the probe has been completed.
