There are eight races left – seven in California and one in Alaska. Calling the race in Alaska is delayed due to the ranked-choice voting format, and in California, mail-in ballots are still being received until Tuesday.
In California, Republican incumbents Michelle Steel and Ken Calvert look set to retain their seats, while John Duarte and Mike Garcia face a tougher fight. There are still potential disagreements: just a few thousand votes separate Republican Scott Baugh and Democrat Dave Min in the battle to replace Rep. Katie Porter in Orange County, and fewer than a thousand votes represent incumbent Democratic Rep. Jim Costa and the Republican challenger Michael Maher.
