The House of Representatives voted on the “clean” continuing resolution (CR), known as the American Relief Act of 2024, sponsored by Republican Speaker Mike Johnson and approved by recent President Donald Trump earlier on Thursday, and the spending bill failed.
We previously received notification of the vote’s completion and planned next steps via PunchbowlNews.com senior congressional reporter Melanie Zanona:

Speaker Mike Johnson commented on the process to the media as voting on the bill continued:
.@SpeakerJohnson to CR: “This is Washington. This is how legislation is done…The only change in this legislation is that we will move the debt limit to January 30, 2027.” pic.twitter.com/x5FKmAhZWx

Johnson said, among other things:
We’ll do the right thing tonight.
The American Relief Act of 2024 will provide us with transient funding to get us into the first half of next year.
…
We will be able to make the key decisions regarding financing for the 2025 financial year. The [CR] will enable us to do this. Additionally, we will care for Americans who have suffered real, devastating emergencies and disasters.
