As we’ve reported, CBS News was busy destroying any sense of credibility it had left in recent weeks by fraudulently editing a “60 Minutes” interview with Kamala Harris and then refusing to do so despite a massive public outcry , to publish a full transcript.
However, it seems they’re not done humiliating themselves yet, and on Wednesday night anchor Norah O’Donnell humiliated herself even further by delivering such a stupid, divisive opener to her supposedly earnest news program that it probably made some viewers jump suffocation.
A quick bit of background: A comedian made a joke about Puerto Rico’s garbage problem at a Trump rally on Sunday, and the media covered it endlessly. Meanwhile, the president of the free world, Joe Biden, called half of America “trash,” and the same media has gone into full damage control mode to undo the damage.
Here’s Norah’s brilliant shot [emphasis mine]:
“Former President Donald Trump was in North Carolina earlier and he’s in Wisconsin tonight,” O’Donnell said [said]. “He just recently landed in Green Bay and pulled this Campaign stuntspeaking to reporters from a garbage truck is evidence that he and his supporters are give no mercy on a faux pas by President Biden where he accidentally called Trump supporters trash in his statement.”
You won’t let Biden call Americans trash?! This must be a parody. We’re less than a week away from probably the most crucial election of our lifetime, and Trump is supposed to “show mercy” to an octogenarian, cognitively impaired president who just offended half the voters?
What is she smoking? Must be powerful stuff. Curtis Houck Newsbusters didn’t seem impressed:

The media and the Kamala campaign are outraged because Joe Biden just gave Trump a fantastic gift in the final days of what was beginning to be a close election – and the once and hopefully future president capitalized on it as only he could. Kamala, Tim Walz, Hillary Clinton and others. almost daily deliver the most divisive rhetoric we’ve ever seen – Trump is a Nazi, the Republicans are fascists, Trump wants to ban interracial marriage (seriously) – but when Joe Biden commits one of the biggest gaffes in recent election history, fraudulent network CBS wants Trump to “show mercy” and what – just let him off the hook? Come on man, this is some earnest nonsense, not a joke.
It would be entertaining if it weren’t so despicable. However, I hope I can laugh about it on Wednesday, November 6th.
Let’s all make sure we do our part. Oh, and one last reminder: You can’t hate the media enough.
