CBS has bad news for Kamala Harris in Nevada: Voters are polled and it turns out they are “really excited about Trump”

We are now counting down the days to the election and everyone is looking at the polls, focus groups and possible signs.

But I have to give CBS credit: They actually send people out into the field to talk to people, and they come back with responses that might contradict some of the polls.

As we reported five days ago, they sent Major Garrett to campaign in Michigan and he came back with the message that support for former President Donald Trump was “real and solid.” This happened just as a local Detroit News poll and an Insider Advantage poll showed Trump ahead. Michigan is considered one of the best opportunities for Kamala Harris to win in a swing state. She’s ahead there by 1.2 percent in the RCP average, but if it’s that close, it’s a real problem for her. Add to that the “undecided” vote she would normally get from people on the left who are livid about Gaza and maybe just aren’t there for her.

Now CBS another reporter outsidethis time to Nevada. While the RCP average in Nevada is very tight, with Harris currently up 0.4 percent, Adrianna Diaz’s results may indicate otherwise. She visited restaurants in Reno, North Las Vegas and Pahrump, Nevada. Trump’s policy of not taxing tips would resonate with the region’s immense service economy there, but it sounded like they already liked his other ideas on the economy and the border.

At a barbecue restaurant in Reno, Diaz spoke to four friends who were upset about illegal immigration. One of the women dismissed the idea that most people were coming for asylum: “Nonsense. They come for the freebies.”

Another woman refuted the false assumption often spread by the media/left that Trump supporters are against immigration, even though they are against illegal Immigration.

Diaz found only one Harris supporter in the entire restaurant, even though Washoe County is historically “pretty divided.” The man claimed that “democracy” was “clearly under threat from Trump and the Republican Party.” So only one fell for this false Democratic narrative.

At a Mexican restaurant in North Las Vegas, people were worried about the economy and the border. This is not good for Harris. A couple originally from Portugal and Mexico were Republicans; the woman spoke of the illegal immigrants “not following the rules.” The only Harris supporter in the restaurant said Biden-Harris was responsible for “job growth.” But another table of men disagreed. One man was upset about inflation: “Tacos cost what? A dollar, a dollar fifty? After the pandemic, they’re not less than three dollars anymore,” he said. He leans toward Trump.

In Pahrump, a couple admitted their support for Trump. The woman said Trump was a robust leader who could handle foreign leaders. The man was concerned about the state of the union. At another table, business leaders talked about inflation, which one blamed on Joe Biden.

Diaz said she found only one Harris supporter per restaurant at each location.

“What was really incredible is that in every single restaurant where we went, there were people willing to talk to us, we could only find one Harris supporter – and we left no stone unturned.”

She said she approached “every single person” except one guy who was drunk.

But people are really excited about Trump,” Diaz explained.

This is just an anecdote, of course, but Garrett had a similar impression of the resilience of Trump voters.

The latest RCP numbers for the post-debate swing states show Trump ahead in Pennsylvania, Arizona, North Carolina and Georgia, while Harris is ahead in Nevada, Michigan and Wisconsin. That would mean Trump wins the Electoral College by 281 votes to 257.
