Charleston, WV (Wowk) – There is a recent face that represents the 17th district of the Senate of West Virginia.
The governor of West Virginia, Patrick Morrisey, has commissioned Anne Charnock to fill the free seat. Former Senator Eric Nelson left the seat at the beginning of this month when he was appointed secretary.
According to Morrisey’s office, Charnock is a former Charleston Richter city court, who served for more than 12 years. She is also a member of the Republican National Lawyers Association.
“Anne is a lifelong republican and was a committed official in the Kanawha district,” said Morrisey. “As a former judge and experienced lawyer, she will be a great advocate of her voters.”
During Charnock’s career as a lawyer, she worked as a hearing examiner for several state and local authorities, worked as a lawyer for children’s lawyers and, according to Morrisey, as the deputy lawyer of the WV Republican Party. She is also the owner of Charnock & Charnock in Charleston.
