The Republican National Convention ended in Milwaukee on Thursday. It was an thrilling event with many humorous and inspiring moments. Even CNN’s Van Jones had to admit that “something was happening.”

I don’t think the Democratic convention will come anywhere close to that level of unity and spirit, especially since they don’t even seem to know who their candidate is and are trying to push aside the man who got the votes in the primaries. That doesn’t exactly lend a hand with unity.

In the midst of all this, CNN fact-checker Daniel Dale claimed that what Rep. Mike Waltz (R-FL) said during his RNC address about Biden’s focus on electric tanks, “pure fiction.” But when Waltz sat down with CNN’s Boris Sanchez on Thursday, he took the opportunity to verbally criticize Dale. Waltz then laid out all the information he had that showed that this was indeed the case.

Waltz noted that reporting on the electric tanks had to be put on hold because further investment in and development of battery technology was needed. He said he had made statements to the Minister of the Army on the subject of electric combat vehicles as well as on the non-tactical vehicles mentioned in the climate strategy.

Waltz then suggested that Dale sit down with the chairman of the House Armed Services Committee’s Subcommittee on Readiness (him), who approves these budgets, “who knows the testimony and the actual facts” (and perhaps knows what he’s talking about) “before he goes on national television and questions someone’s credibility.”

Sanchez said he thought Dale would be “more than happy to sit down with Waltz.”

Waltz responded, “He should do that before he makes it public… He said it on the air. When we talk about misleading, he is misleading the public… I know all the facts. If he is misleading on that point, on what other points is he misleading?”

Sanchez tried to defend Dale, saying finding out the truth was a “process.”

Waltz then took Dale to task, pointing out that he had made his comment minutes after Waltz had made his remarks, and that it was therefore impossible for him to have verified all the facts or known the testimony Waltz had received under oath.

That’s the way to go about it; it was a great effort by Waltz. He simply demonstrated how ridiculous “fact checking” is, and he did it on CNN.

People were excited.
