We’ve seen a number of polls showing Joe Biden is having trouble with black voters. His opponent, former President Donald Trump, has also tried to reach out to black voters with events in places like the South Bronx and Detroit, and his approval ratings among black voters have risen.

Highly anticipated poll of black voters in swing states is here – and it does not bode well for Joe Biden
But even CNN data analyst Harry Enten was surprised by the numbers he can see now.

“I always hope that this changes, that we return to a historical norm, but that hasn’t happened, simply put. So that’s the gap between Biden and Trump among black voters, if you compare where we were at this point in 2020 and where we are now. Look at that. In 2020, Joe Biden got 86% of the African-American vote. Look at where it is now. It’s 70%, that’s a 16 percentage point drop, John,” Enten told host John Berman.
“And what’s more, it’s not just that Joe Biden is losing ground. It’s that Donald Trump is gaining ground. They go from 7%, single digits at this point in 2020, to 21% now, and again, John, I’m continuing to look for signs of things getting back to normal, but I’m not seeing that in the polls right now. We’re headed for a historic performance by a Republican presidential candidate, the likes of which we haven’t seen in six decades.”
Where did the change come from? When Enten looked at the cross-tabulations of the data, he said they showed that black voters over 50 had lost slightly, from 83 percent to 74 percent. Trump, on the other hand, had tripled his support, from seven percent to 21 percent. But Biden and the Democrats had really lost among black voters under 50. That was what really shocked Enten.
“Look at black voters under 50,” the data reporter continued. “My goodness, folks, my goodness. Look at this. Joe Biden was ahead by 80 points in this group at this point in 2020, look where that lead has gone down to. Now it’s down to, imagine, 37 points. That lead has shrunk by more than half, Mr. Berman. I’ve never seen anything like this. I’m speechless because you always look at history and say, ‘Okay, this is a historic moment.’ If this poll is even remotely accurate, then we’re witnessing a historic moment right now where black voters under 50, who have historically been such a big part of the Democratic coalition, are leaving in droves.”
Berman spoke of a “huge decline” within four years. Yes, that’s putting it mildly – it’s 43 points. No wonder the Biden team is freaking out.
Enten noted that Biden suffers even more when Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is included in the swing states, dropping his numbers among black voters to “less than half the votes among black voters,” Enten said.
But they shouldn’t be shocked. Biden has brought disaster to the United States in many ways and on top of that he is incoherent. People, including black voters, understand that, they know how it affects their wallets.
If that continues, it could spell Biden’s downfall, especially given all of his other problems and the people who are abandoning him. Not only that, but with voters under 50, it could bode well for the future if Republicans can maintain that support.
Enten had previously stated that this change of course would have devastating consequences for the electoral votes and could lead to a Trump victory in several swing states, including Arizona, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Georgia.
That would be pretty much the gameplay.
