Democrats have not responded very favorably to President-elect Donald Trump’s massive election victory.
There are people vacillating between collapsing and pretending the world is ending, trying to figure out how to respond to or thwart the impending takeover by Trump and the Republicans. The GOP will have control of the Senate, and at this point it seems likely that they will have control of the House.
But one idea that comes to mind for this second group of people is really amusing and I don’t give it much chance of success – namely, nominating Kamala Harris for a Supreme Court vacancy.
CNN talked about Democrats’ efforts to influence the Supreme Court under Trump. Bakari Sellers promoted the Harris idea, surprising host John Berman in the process.

Sellers claimed that Kamala had “legal pedigree to sit on the Supreme Court.”
Berman’s eyes lifted at the suggestion. “And let Republicans go crazy that I’m even mentioning this option,” Sellers said. “I don’t just let it float, I want to stir it all up. I want people’s heads to explode just so we can go into the weekend knowing that the chaos isn’t over.”
Sellers thinks he’s going to make heads explode, but the suggestion is really hilarious and he doesn’t even understand why it’s not being implemented. This is just another example of Democrats living in their own bubble of illusion. It’s like believing Iowa will be a win for Harris.
We’ve already seen this in her support for Harris, even though she was a decidedly unimpressive, empty-headed candidate who couldn’t even answer basic questions about how she would differ from Joe Biden. Furthermore, despite having served as attorney general of California and district attorney of San Francisco, she has neither legal experience nor the scholarship typically sought for SCOTUS. Anyone who suggests it shows that they do not care about what is best for the court.

Furthermore, why should Justice Sonia Sotomayor resign? This is the person who say some Democrats should resign so Biden could appoint someone younger. So much for respecting her; She doesn’t particularly care about that. Just get out of the way of our basic goals. The Democrats are really about control. And what do you really get other than a weaker candidate? Kamala is already 60, she is not much younger than Sotomayor, who is only 70.
First, I don’t think Sotomayor will resign because of this stupidity, nor should she.
Second, I don’t think Joe Biden would consider Kamala Harris. I’m not even sure he likes her, let alone thinks she’s qualified for the position. So these are all just pipe dreams of the left.
Third, I don’t think the Senate would agree to it, especially with the time left.
But here’s a thought. Go ahead and oust Sotomayor. Then you will end up unable to fill the seat, and Trump will be able to fill it when he takes control of the Senate after January. You will have shot yourself in the foot once again if you try to play such games.
Sellers then concluded his remarks by saying, “The chaos is not over yet.” In doing so, he made a devastating admission that is true: With Democrats comes chaos. If they don’t get their way, they want more chaos.
But yes, the chaos will end on January 20th, no matter how many crazy fits like this the Democrats throw.
