Former MP Yadira Caraveo (D-Colo.) Announced on Tuesday that she was running for her aged house seat in Colorado’s 8th district, whom she lost the last cycle to Rep. Gabe Evans (R-Colo).
“The 8th district deserves a representative who is looking for them, but Gabe Evans has already shown that he will always set Donald Trump, Elon Musk and his Maga supporter in Washington first” said in a post on Facebook.
“I cannot be available while Gabe Evans is trying to tear away the health care of tens of thousands of Coloradans, including the families that I served as a pediatrician, and make life difficult for working families,” she continued. “Now Coloradans need a leader who will stand up for you and do the right thing – I am ready to do exactly that.”
Caraveo was first elected to the Colorado seat, which is located between Fort Collins and Denver and comprises Greeley in 2022 after the state added another district after the ten -year census.
But the pediatrician lost its seat against Evans in November with about three quarters of a percentage point to Evans.
However, Caraveo is not the only democrat that has already announced an offer – state representative Manny Rutinel has thrown his hat in the ring, as well as John Szemler, a consultant for process improvement. Others could also join the field.
Zach Bannon, a regional press spokesman for the National Republican Congress Committee, said Caraveo “jumped in a competitive primary school that is certainly a fight on the other to remain relevant.”
“Anyone who emerges from the radical rat race of the Democrats will only another liberal that is rejected by Coloradans” Added in a contribution on the social platform X.
The seat is assessed as a “throw” by the impartial election disability of the political report.
