Somewhere Ronald Reagan could enjoy a nice laugh.
On Monday, President Donald Trump signed an executive order in which he called for the “immediate” construction of an iron dome defense system to protect America from enemy external threats.
The newly shaped Defense Minister Pete Hegseth had indicated that the command came down the pike when he made his first full day in office.
“The lawful orders of the United States President are carried out quickly and without apology in this Ministry of Defense. We will not be a better friend for our allies and not a stronger opponent for those who want to test us and try, ”Hegseth told reporters.
“And today there are more management orders that we are full and [Covid-19] Mandates and an iron dome for America, ”he added. “That happens quickly.”
Today Pete Hegseth’s first working day is in the Pentagon for the Ministry of Defense.

Later in the evening, President Trump confirmed these efforts at a Republican dinner in Florida.
“Pete Hegseth, who will be great by the way … I think he’ll be fantastic,” Trump told the participants in comments. “I know him very well. I think he’s getting fantastic.”
“He is what we need to start building a state-of-the-art iron rocket defense sign that can protect the Americans.”
Shortly afterwards the order was signedOne of a number of measures that are supposed to strengthen America’s defense.

The most surprising with Trump’s executive order is the extent of weakness, since the Federal Government makes peace “Peace through strength” an official political goal.
The executive order for the Iron Dome for America asks the Minister of Defense to submit a detailed plan in which “reference architecture, skills based and an implementation plan for the next generation rocket defense sign” are listed.
These plans include a prerequisite for “the defense of the United States against ballistic, hypers, advanced cruise rocks and other next generation of the next generation of the next generation.”

There are some concerns about the implementation of a rocket defense system responsible by a smaller nation in Israel, which is to be taken into account very different geographical factors than that of the United States. Israel is about 8,630 square miles, while America is about 3,796,742 square miles.
Israel’s iron dome is supposed to intercept and destroy tiny -range missiles and artillery chains. Every attack on the United States would certainly include long -range missiles. Not to mention that the costs for the construction of such a defense system would probably be high.
However, the threat remains. The United States under President Joe Biden Fall Behind in the willingness for possible long -range missiles from Russia, China or North Korea. And while critics of Trump’s executive regulations undoubtedly reject as a moody as a reality (see space), it is the kind of outside of the box that thinks this country needs.

Reagan was widely mocked for his Strategic defense initiative (SDI), announced in 1983 and quickly with the nickname of the Star Wars program from Democrats and the media. It turned out that he might be just before the process of his time. The initiative would be scrapped later because technologies were removed for decades before the willingness.
Here we came here decades later when Trump – even a Reaganese figure – comes.
Trump referred to Reagan and his interest in a similar system during the Cold War and made his comments at the Republican dinner. He remembered how the country “did not have the technology at the time”.
“And now we have phenomenal technology. You see it with Israel,” said Trump. “I think the United States are entitled to it. And everything is done 100 percent here in the United States.”
“Next we are sure that we have the most fatal fighting power in the world,” he concluded.
