Several Republican senators are casting a familiar name to take Marco Rubio’s Senate seat if he is confirmed as secretary of state: President-elect Lara Trump’s daughter-in-law.
Lara, the wife of Trump’s second son Eric, has been co-chair of the Republican National Committee since March 2024 and just helped ensure Donald’s landslide victory. It seems like some are affected by this impressed with her performance:

Lara Trump herself expressed interest in the position in an interview with Fox Business’ Maria Bartiromo on Thursday.
“If asked, I would seriously consider it, but I have not heard from Governor DeSantis. So we’ll see what happens,” Lara Trump said.
Lara Trump has been praised by all Republicans for her role as co-chair of the Republican National Committee (RNC) amid the party’s massive victories last week.
