One thing I miss about California is In-N-Out. This iconic double-double is just perfect for someone whose diet consists almost entirely of meat, and the fact that you can customize the burger (four by four, animal and protein style, baby!) makes it even more accessible for special diets. Not to mention that their shake machines never broken. Although they are planning an expansion into Tennessee in 2026 (we live near the Tennessee border), that is still a long way off. So, I’m sorry.
I also love In-N-Out because I like to support companies that stand for freedom and Christian values. In-N-Out paid its employees above Minimum wage before the unions and the left in Sacramento decided there had to be such a thing. During the COVID madness, when California Governor Gavin Newsom dined at the French Laundry while condemning the people and businesses of California to lockdowns, social distancing, and vaccine passports, In-N-Out basically told him to go to hell. When Hair Gel’s hometown of San Francisco required people to show their vaccination cards before entering restaurants, In-N-Out simply closed its dining room, stood firm, and had this to say.
“We refuse to become the vaccine police for any government,” said Arnie Wensinger, In-N-Out’s Chief Legal & Business Officer. “We are firmly opposed to any government dictate that forces a private business to discriminate against customers who choose to visit their store.”
In August, San Francisco began requiring customers eating indoors to show proof of full vaccination.
Brutally.
As Republican Rep. Kevin Kiley of California noted, In-N-Out was forced to close a restaurant near Oakland Airport for the first time in its 75-year history because of California’s rampant crime. The restaurant had previously operated at that location for more than 18 years. This is Newsom’s California.
So In-N-Out stayed true to its values and calls for reform by throwing its considerable influence behind the reform proposal Prop 47, now titled Prop 36:

Some leftists have announced “boycotts” in the past, but these were invariably short-lived because they were no longer willing to give up the burgers.
On Friday, In-N-Out also put its money where its mouth is, donating half a million dollars to California for Safer Communities’ “Yes on Prop 36” campaign. The law aimed at reducing homelessness, drug addiction and theft is a burning issue for California citizens and businesses, and after a hard-fought grassroots campaign and opposition from Governor Newsom and his acolytes in the California Legislature, they will finally be able to vote on Prop 47 reform in November. Campaign funding will pay for ads, mailers and other means to get people to vote “YES” on the measure. This is desperately needed as opposing factions are still trying to defeat the law by spreading misinformation:

This is another reason for Californians, Arizonans, Texans and Nevadans to visit their local In-N-Out and thank them for their great food and their great stance on values and freedom. While most California businesses that have fallen victim to this crime wave are still supporting ridiculous WOKE initiatives and DEI measures (with an eye on YouTarget), In-N-Out is actually committed to civil liberties, customer service, and the protection of its employees.
The stupid left has tried to boycott In-N-Out, but they’ve never succeeded. Like the other fast-food chain with overtly Christian values often known as “The Lord’s Chicken,” no one is giving up on “The Lord’s Burgers,” even if they disagree with In-N-Out’s viewpoints.
