As we reported, President-elect Donald Trump has now nominated Kash Patel for the FBI director position.

Patel is a huge favorite of Trump supporters and it will also be strenuous to argue that he is unqualified. He is a lawyer who has handled many trials and served as Chief of Staff at the Department of Defense, Deputy Director of National Intelligence, and Senior Director for Counterterrorism at the National Security Council.

How do you know it’s a good choice? The right people are upset. They know that Patel will not just be a status quo, run-of-the-mill Republican, but that he will neat things up.

Former FBI official Andrew McCabe went into turmoil immediately after the announcement on CNN. Imagine if CNN asked the disgraced McCabe for an opinion on anything, let alone this issue.

It is a terrible development for the men and women of the FBI and for the nation, which depends on a well-functioning, professional and independent Federal Bureau of Investigation.

The fact that Kash Patel is completely unqualified for this job is not even up for debate.

What we really need to think about now is what this signals in terms of Donald Trump’s intentions for the FBI.

Such a nomination “may just be a plan to disrupt, dismantle and distract the FBI,” McCabe said, and “perhaps” operate the FBI as a “tool” for Trump’s “political agenda.”

There is a plan to “disrupt” and “dismantle” any further abuse or weaponization of the FBI. This is one of those positions that the people have given Trump a mandate to deal with, and Patel has made it clear that he will return the focus to fighting crime, as he said on the “Shawn Ryan” show.

Many felt it was a huge recommendation that McCabe was against him.

The anti-Trump forces and people on the left are already having real fits. And it’s not even January yet when the Trump team will step in and really start reshaping things. People want to get their jobs done, and that’s why they voted for President-elect Donald Trump. This is one of those appointments that Democrats will likely fight tooth and nail, and Republicans will have to stick together to get through and uphold the popular mandate.
