John Kennedy is a master of words, and his caustic humor has left unprepared future judges trembling at his pointed questions and fools wishing they had never caught his attention.
The Republican senator from Louisiana appeared on Fox News on Friday night summed up Joe Biden’s political future in his own unique way, saying that after the president’s disastrous performance in the debate and the subsequent, faltering ABC interview, there was no way to “make this cat walk backwards.”
“I’m not sure, Kayleigh, that interviews like the one the president gave tonight matter much at this moment. You can’t make that cat go backwards,” Kennedy said. “People saw what they saw in that 90-minute debate, and I think most of them think it’s only a matter of time before President Biden stumbles again, because they understand that age doesn’t get better, it gets worse.”
He accused the media of covering up Biden’s mental decline and argued that most Americans already knew who they would vote for.
“Rightly or wrongly, I think most Americans have made up their minds,” he continued. “I think they’ve come to the conclusion that President Biden is old, that he probably has some form of neurodegenerative disease that he’s had for some time, and that the White House and many members of the media industrial complex have covered this up, and that cover-up has been toxic, in my opinion, for whatever it’s worth.”

Kennedy is not only a unique wordsmith, he is also extremely clever.

Kennedy considers Biden’s campaign slogan problematic:
“I think President Biden is as dead politically as a fried chicken. He can resign now, he can be replaced — let me finish my thought,” Kennedy said as McEnany began to respond. “Or he can run and lose. You can’t run successfully for president of the United States if your campaign slogan is, ‘I’m only sometimes senile,’ as one commentator noted today.”
“I’m just senile sometimes” – I admit, that made me laugh out thunderous. If you’re worried about the state of politics in this country, don’t look to Washington for reassurance, he added:
“At this difficult time, you should not look to Washington, D.C., for wisdom or comfort. As you know, most people in Washington, D.C. will turn off their life support to charge their cell phone,” Kennedy said. “Most people in Washington, D.C., right now are concerned about how the president’s problems will affect them personally. I’m more interested in what the American people think.”
Kennedy is undoubtedly one of the most entertaining personalities in politics. But what makes him so compelling is that he is not only incredibly entertaining, but his observations usually hit the nail on the head. That is certainly the case here.
